Here's 1 I just did recently. Nothing major, just a screw mounted window. It was mainly for better thermals.

Here we go. The A10 has landed. Fresh from the ATE trade in deal. thumbup.gif

Here's how a standard A10 looks like. Sexy but not sexy enuf yet. laugh.gif

A pic of the internals. Notice the fan shroud at the PCI bracket area. That's the standard shroud. It uses a 120m fan that sucks air out of the case. Quite an inefficient method coz the fan is really restricted. Many A10 users will tell u how hot the system gets.

user posted image

1st thing I did was to take off the standard fan shroud.

user posted image

Got the other type of Lian Li side fan. This side fan is not meant for this case as it need's a ventilation mesh on teh side panel for air to go tru. Not to worry, we shal take care of that soon enuf. We'll b using it as an intake fan in this mod.

I'm not modding this case to BTX style. I was just studying the structure to c if it can be done. Coz the case was with me for a coupla weeks.

Sry dude, not BTX style on this mod. Perhaps another A10 will b up for sum BTX style lovin later on. laugh.gif Definitely can be done but involves lotsa precision work to align everything back properly n nicely. Y not u try on urs so U can b the 1st BTX style A10 in LYN? GOGOGO. thumbup.gif

Definitely gonna be much much cooler coz direct intake of cool outside air.

Added on June 24, 2007, 2:48 pmWokeh, managed to enter the forbidden bucket. laugh.gif Here we go with the pix pix pix.

After chopping the alu side panel n acrylic piece. All parts r ready for final detailing work to make everything nice n smooth. Then it's on to finall assembly.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, deliciously shiny bling bling blingy edges makes my day. Heeehehehe. I just cant resist making these edges. It's just sumthin that makes me feel really good after a whole day of rub a dub dub. It's like an addiction to c it shine. laugh.gif

Voila! The assembly is done n the case is all done. The screw mounting was a last minute decision. It was originally planned as a normal window without screws. I reckon it was a great decision as the screws adds more ooooomph to a rather boring square box design that the A10 is.

This was the most difficult part of the mod. I had to align the hole on acrylic to match exactly where the internal side fan was. Lotsa measurements had to b taken. Remember the rule measure twice cut once? Well, for this 1 it was measure 10 times cut once. laugh.gif

user posted image

The end. May the gods treat it gently n safely on it's way back home in a Skynet truck n also bless it with lotsa lovely, hot hot hot hardware too. laugh.gif

BTX style, i'm looking forward to it... but i don't have tools like you do sir... laugh.gif
anyway... i was just looking the case and studied a bit bout the structure, the BTX can be done, but like uncle ianho said, it has to be very careful and precise, we are afraid that slider won't be aligned well - one of A10's feature i like, it's slideable motherboard tray thumbup.gif

as for HR-01, i mounted the heatsink horizontally as i wanted to place a Panaflo 120mm on it, to aid cool down the HR-03 below the HR-01 (if you know what i mean - i re-mounted the HR-03 using type 2 mounting, meaning, the cooler is around the card) but i can't place fan on HR-03 because blocked by HR-01, damn i think the board doh.gif sad.gif

user posted image

form the pic, the CPU placement made mounting the HR-01 + HR-03 is a hard one... or any of guys have any idea?

oops.gif sorry a bit off topic, but i think it's relevant on my case though... tongue.gif

I liked the decision that screws was used instead of the standard screwless window mods. It gives the case a much more metallic look to it. Like a Transformer!

The side fan could be removed from the original side patent fan.

Why ? U are interested to get it ?? I have few spare that don't want ..

if u are looking for it can PM me ..

back to topic .. uncle how did u mount the grill to the side panel ???

I have experienced bolt or screw about 1 inch long would disturb the side patent fan itself when closing the side panel...
