Hi all, im recently bought a new ram adata 4gb ddr4 2400mhz which is exactly the same model, capacity & frequency with my existing ram. After installing the new ram, i couldn't get any display. I've done few troubleshooting as below but still fail.
1) use single existing ram in all ram slots - success for all 4 slots. 2) use single new ram in all ram slots - no display for all 4 slots. 3) pair both rams according to my mobo manual in all ram slots combination - no display. 4) remove cmos battery, place cmos jumper at clear position with power cord unplugged and leave it at this state overnite - still no display (this is how i understand to reset cmos for my mobo from google)
The other component seems running, but i couldn't get any display.
My hardware spec as below: Mobo: asrock b250 pro4 Ram: adata 4gb ddr4 2400mhz x 2 (1 existing, 1 new) Psu: seasonic focus+ 850fx Cpu: intel g4560 Gpu: rx480 8gb sapphire nitro+ Ssd: sandisk 120gb
Can anyone help me? Do i purchase a bad ram?
Thanks

Dont put in your RAM beside each other. Separate by one slot.

QUOTE(Supernen @ May 4 2019, 04:37 PM) 2) use single new ram in all ram slots - no display for all 4 slots.
If you confirm new & old is the same model, then its new RAM faulty.

Wouldn't this mean the new ram is faulty?

If you just install just the new RAM (remove the old one). Does your system boot?

Try send back to the shop you've purchased or better still bring your desktop to the shop to let them have a check/install. It's a very simple task but also time consuming if you decide to diagnose it yourself. Run memtest etc.
If you're really sure the RAMs are not faulty you can try it out in another motherboard/desktop.

The replacement ram works like charm..
