REVIEW: MSI GF75 Thin powered with GTX1650 and 9th Gen Intel CPU

Introduction
The Intel 9th Gen CPU laptops lineup have just released not long ago across all the laptop / gaming laptops brand, and i got the chance to do a little review for the MSI GF75 with GTX1650 and 9th gen cpu which peek my interest with it's design and the price which is RM5,199 when i bought it. And the overall outlook look much different comparing to other current or old MSI laptops

specs:
- 17.3″ FHD (1920*1080), 60Hz IPS, Thin Bezel
- GeForce® GTX 1650 , 4GB GDDR5
- Coffeelake i7-9750H+HM370
- DDR IV 8GB (2666MHz)
- 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD

The MSI GF75 body is a mixture of aluminium and plastic which is surprisingly sturdy as a thin laptop, and i would expect it to be using GTX Max-Q version for it's graphic, but it is using the standard GTX1650 which surprised me. Furthermore, it have a thin bezel monitor which come with IPS level of color gamut display, a level-up ventilation design to let air to flow at the bottom of the laptop and overall it is light.

Build quality
As for the build quality, the laptop is build with a mixture of aluminium and plastic where the aluminium part are mostly covered the housing and the plastic part is around the keyboard which they did this to compensate on the costing without compromising performance. Though the hinge part is build much more sturdier comparing to MSI older models.

Keyboard
The MSI GF75 keyboard build with Steelseries technology which have quite the sensation in typing and there is no mushy feeling towards typing. Regretfully, this model only come with a Red backlight only for it's keyboard,

Right side it have
- LAN port

- Laptop lock
- Fan Exhaust

The GF75 have 2 fans, 4 exhaust and 4 heatpipe. A bit lackluster comparing to other MSI model like the GS75 or GE75, but the GF75 are cater to more entry level gamer and which is more cheaper . Tested on gaming, the temperature were fine (For this part, I will provide more photo of the temperature and FPS etc in near future)

- Red only keyboard backlight

- Mousepad slightly larger than the usual gaming laptop and increased smoother sensation

- bottom part of the laptop with ventilation holes and factory seal's sticker

As from the overall outlook, it is sturdy and light for such a 17 inch thin laptop which come with great display. But for the down side, the GF75 does not come with full aluminium where they compensate with plastic for the price. As for the performance i will do it in the near future.

Nice casing, looks great, but hows the touch pad??
*
The touchpad is bigger than usual, the sensation is not as smooth as I tested on the MSI GS65, but for a Mid-range gaming laptop wise it is consider good.

u have no HDD ?  unsure.gif

To be honest, this GF75 is way better than the GF63, at least it have 2 fans. though the cooling is not as good as the GP or the GE, but it is consider above average cooling for this laptop range

Isn't it a bit expensive for 1650? Can get Dell G5 2060 or new Helios 300 with 2060 at 5200rm on Lazada
*
As for what I know, this laptop is slightly expensive for few reason, CPU generation, size of the laptop and GPU which are the major factor. Furthermore the GF75 is a Thin laptop which will be more expensive for the 2.1k+ above laptop which around the same spec.

My bad, 2.1kg above, but from what i know, the GF75 is the only 17inch laptop around this price range in MSI.
