Hi, would like to ask opinions of experts. I'm currently working in overseas, would like to ask if using Digi or U Mobile prepaid WiFi calling better/cheaper. Because no other telco offering WiFi calling AFAIK.

Purpose of Malaysian sim: receive bank OTP codes & Malaysian calls. Sometimes the odd call to a Malaysian bank CS centre.

Background: Currently using OneXOX. But I feel need to have WiFi calling just in case need to call/receive call from a Malaysian number. if I have WiFi calling, calls to Malaysian numbers are counted as "local" calls so it's cheaper than buying an international calling card here.

Option 1: Digi
Any chance can get 365 validity anymore?
If no, Topup RM10 every 2 months should keep the line active right? So in a way RM60 damage per year for 365 validity

Q: Any limit how long/how much unused credit can be carried over? I guess Digi should have no problems at all receiving banks OTP? Last time initially when switch to OneXOX had major problem receiving OTP!

Option 2: U Mobile
Topup RM10 every 2 months should keep the line active right? So in a way RM60 damage per year for 365 validity

Q: Any limit how long/how much unused credit can be carried over? Any problems with U Mobile international roaming? Have never roamed with U Mobile before.

Based on your experience, would you recommend Digi or U Mobile? Thank you in advance for your help smile.gif

I am currently using the digi for the same purpose. But I think there is no 365 days Super Long live anymore. What I do is I will top up whenever my balance is low, but when it is almost reaching the end of grace period, I use the app to extend the one day validity again, which it will deduct from my balance.

Thanks for letting me know bro. Going by this, is RM60 per year roughly enough to maintain the line? Or will need more?

And it seems Digi WiFi calling is mostly limited to iPhones, any chance an old Note 5 or Note 8 will work with Digi? Or else might need consider U Mobile....

I think it is carrier feature. If you are roaming with other carrier, you may need to check it is supported . Not so sure.

I guess will have to turn on airplane mode? And use WiFi only?

U Mobile seems to have more official resources regarding WiFi calling compared to Digi

Found cheap & no expiry VOIP in where I live now. Only about USD0.03 per minute. Much cheaper than Malaysian prepaid rates. I guess will maintain my OneXOX then. Thanks for all the help and replies
