do the connection fail when u start moving around?
like when travel 1 place to another
did the connection stop in the time u are trying to get from 1 to another place???

In my 512, settings/connections/GPRS/DIGI GPRS page,

1. IP Address column, default was 0.0.0.0., Digi Network technician (came to my home) setup up 203.092.128.188 for me (if you call Digi helpline, they give you this IP as well), the Internet worked for a few hours and it die off until seeking of website time out. I surf to digi.com.my, found out a page comparing the DL speed of GPRS vs EDGE jpeg, (http://www.digi.com.my/data_services/gprs/datagprs_technicalspec.do) the IP in the jpeg shows: 203.092.129.63. Desperado, I put in the new found IP into the IP column, hoorah! Internet surfing with 512 come alive, fairly good speed, so far 3 hours already, still running well! Is there a "killer" IP which will help the speed of EDGE (assuming optimum signal strength)?

2. I am hunting for the Primary DNS and Secondary DNS IP, anyone has the IP? As this will make IP resolve faster rather than extra queries to be invoked. The Digi helpline promised to call me back for the IP, but don't bet on them!

for iPAQ 512 firmware 1.09.00, yes. try call HP CS see any newer firmware to solve this issue.


1) 203.92.128.188 = digi proxy, was used for wap platform access net.

2) dns1 & dns2.digi.net.my

my experience, DiGi dns is kinda stable. Nothing to do by changing other DNS will work faster.

most problem given from iPAQ 512(a) problem like heihei mentioned. b) iPAQ battery drain fast when plugged to PC as the dumb USB setting default to USB Slow Charging )

my computer cannot detect the hp 512 when i plug in the compaq laptop.
But when i connect to hp 520 laptop it auto connect and need not to setting.
I need to install the ActiveSync to connect to my compaq laptop?

Hi, need sifu help here. As our 512 cannot create/edit text file but can view only. I am looking for a simple program which I can have a quick note taking whenever an idea or quick info to key in as reminder later. Currently I have no choice but to use "Task" as a note-taking tool.

Anyone know any such freeware around?

The 512 can't create file, but can edit word & excel file.
One way is to create an empty word or excel file, and copy over to the ipaq. Open the file in ipaq, edit and save as different name.

Thank you for responding. After some googling, I found this nice little program which can full-filled my need, it is a freeware, I attach it here. It help to expand the capability of our 512.
