There is a club in my college that's currently in plans of organizing a concert/event of their own. It's basically going to be in a medium-sized hall with the capacity of... 500+ perhaps?

They're currently looking for PA Rental companies (preferably ones that also rents instruments too.). I guess they're looking for one that is reasonably priced as does a decent job in providing a good sound.

So... does anybody here has contacts to offer? Any suggestions and tips are welcomed as well. wink.gif

Err.... thanks for... trying to be helpful? O_o

The thing is, you can't tell the quality of service provided by these companies until you use them. Plus, the equipment they provide may look good on paper but in retrospect, they could be poorly maintained and all. Hence, any past experience with these companies could be very helpful. What I'm looking for here is not just any contact number of the company, but also a recommendation based on a positive past experience. Sorry for not stating this in the first post.

what does reasonably priced mean?
RM1k or below?

cos basically like everyone knows, those PA systems you rent from jamming studios usually wont cut it.
you'll have to go for those who do actual events management.
i know some who do, the sound is definitely more than decent.
the price? well you pay for what you get.

I'm not too sure about their budget, but I would say around RM2k or below?

Is it possible to quote their price? Roughly how much would they charge for a (Sound equipment - speakers, monitors, mixers etc, sound engineers/soundman, lightings, and instruments/amplifiers)?

k rental from jamming studios, with just simple PA, amps, mixer, drums can be anywhere from RM500 - RM1k depending on quality.

if not mistaken, just jam studios has some nice equipment for rent, and since they're in pj sec14 its not that much of a hassle to get to.

Emm, this won't help much but i am 99% sure you won't get the soundman included in the package for under 2k. My cousin rented a simple side PA for the band at his wedding and it was just a 16 channel mixer, 800W power amp, 2 FOH speakers and a whole bunch of cables and a few multicores. That costed slightly over 500. I wasn't there myself but i was told that the sound was not great, but not bad. So it's kind of a compromise thing.

I think in your case you may need at least a 32 channel mixer and definitely more than 1 power amp with proper subwoofers, mids and tweeters. A hall of 500 is pretty big. 2k is i think quite tight.

I can ask for the contact for the place where my cousin went to. Will post it if i get it.

i think RM3k is a more realistic estimate, from what my lecturer did during my college's prom.

I don't think they're worth contacting though. they were 2 hours late doh.gif

hi mate , i work for an event management company ..

PM me the location and details about it..

i see if i can help you . cause usually RM2k range ..musical equipments are not included

equipments alone are around 1k with stacks , above 100 watts , complete set drums n cymbals etc..

but i believe we can work something out . you could bring your own equipments and mic up and stuffs..soundman will be provided ...cheers..
