lol depends on item lah!!! haha gosh if your guys maybe think of that thing is necessary to use 'safetrade' then use it and pay loh... no ppl will force u to buy a papernate pen at rm1 and pay rm10 for safe trade lol!

maybe for items more than rm100 or sth higher which is necessary to use safe trade juz in case of con case happens

middleman might run but most probably high posts or admin of lyn won run bah... before becomin a middleman also at least maybe leave all initial details and copy of i.c. or anything so that they wont run lah... who wan to run to thai or indo juz becuz of a maybe less than 10k items?? lol!!!since got all those details and lost item it would be a police case then...

but sometimes middleman might be unlucky till then parcel reaches empty... and thats when the real trouble begins for the middleman liaw... hard to say man....

It might be useful on first thought but to be honest, there are also some pros and cons..

First of all, it would be troublesome if it goes so many ways around. Try to imagine people here are purchasing things because they are cheap. It might be hard for them to pay something extra to someone that they doesnt know in the first place for their service..

Besides, there is also a risk and more extra charges for posting items. It goes 2 ways now which is from Seller --> Middleman and from Middleman --> Buyer. That doubles the risk of posting fragile item and not to forget, paying EXTRA again as well..

Time is also a factor now which leads to you needing to wait longer to get the item.

Safest thus far is still COD. It is always known to have risk buying items online. There is also risk even buying directly from shop. Its up to the buyer whether they know what to do or not in the first place. Still better to look closely and research before purchasing anything..

We'll then need someone to police the middlemen. Besides the added cost per transaction (to pay the middleman, extra postage) its all too inconvenient.

without middleman - 2 way communication
with middleman - 4 way communication

if anyone's paranoid about delivery, use good ones like DHL or FEDEX.

Am curious as to how responsibility is arranged? Suppose the middle did the research n checks on the seller a feels that the seller is trustable. He tell the buyer send the money. Collects his 10% comm. Seller runs off. Does the middleman reimburse the buyers 1st then tries to collect back the money from the run away buyer or does he pay back some n does the same or does he just tries to get back the money with giving any refund to buyer (including his comm.)?

huh?

It works like this

1. Buyer and seller contact middleman for details of transaction.
2. Seller post the item to middleman, upon receving item, middleman contact buyer to make payment (or can make payment 1st if scare buyer ffk)
3. Upon receiving payment from buyer and receiving item, middleman send item to buyer.

Well, what they are suggesting is, when a deal is done, the buyer will send his money to the middleman and the seller will also send the stuff to the middleman.

In this sense, the middleman will have both the money and stuff. Therefore, when both reaches the middleman's hand, he will then proceed to send the item to the buyer and the money to the seller.

It makes sense to be safe in one part but does not if you think about it closely. Good monitoring will be needed, cost a lot more, takes more time and doubles the security risk. If the middleman would run away, 2 party will be at risk..

So if the item is sealed(packed up) how is the middleman gonna verify it?

Another prob could be an arguement the damage of a item when it reaches the buyer or that it was missing some parts.

Like akachester it would take more monitoring than nesserary.

The correct term for something like this is 'escrow'.
