Hi ZM Fong, between Y540 and Y7000SE, which one in your opinion is a better choice?

Or should we wait for Zephyrus G14 if the price range is magically around 4k-ish
*
Y540 and Y7000SE are basically the same

G14 need to wait for reviews

R7-3750H is slightly slower than i5-9300H, not even compared with i7-9750H. Has some limitations like single core performance (it's still Zen+), less PCIe bandwidth etc. Wait for Ryzen 4000 mobile better

AMD GPU still has a long way to go, not just driver side but also efficiency (they still haven't figure out how to optimize power in laptops)

If you want 2060 laptop under RM4.5k, either go for Lenovo Legion Y540 15 customize (apply code LENXCIMB) or Commandos Glock 5 Alpha. However you probably won't be able to get 144Hz IPS which is a must IMO for such GPU

However, depending on the games and video settings you play, you might lose some frames compared to i7+1660Ti

Which are better between these 2 in your opinion?
By losing some frames, how much would you say the differences? I wouldn't mind if it's just 10 fps

decent, can get discounted price

there are other good options as well

GF63 has mediocre build quality and cooling

Hi, any feedback on legion y7000 se? Is this good enough for medium gaming like monster world or pubg? Reliability and cooling is good?

Since I am not hardcore gamer, I am looking at i5-9300h, 8gb ram and gtx1650 configuration.

I have the same general priorities as this.

One part of me wants a Thinkpad E590 but it lacks backlit keyboard, then  one part of me wants to do some casual gaming on it. Another part of me thought of the repairability of the laptop.

I'm inclined with Y530 due to my budget <RM3,100.
Also Illegear Raven SE (but availability of parts would be an issue as I live "overseas".

I absolutely dislike red accented keyboards. A very difficult decision to make.

As a matter of fact, I would forgo good graphics for laptop repairability and build quality without a gaugy design.  I plan on using it for a long time (more of a media content consumer than a gamer).
*
Y530 can get lower than 3.1k?

Btw, raven se is within ur budget. If pay cash, I think it's 3040.

Yes 3199 for 1050ti, wonder if it's still a good choice considering that scer nitro 5 with 1650 & 144hz available at 2.7

I assume the y530 is I7 8750 right? And other specs like ram and hdd is similar. I would go for y530.

Both have their own pros and cons (looks, weight+dimensions, desktop CPU, onsite warranty etc)

If the games you play are CPU heavy then I would suggest i7+1660Ti instead

Good enough for the games you've mentioned

Again, it's a consumer grade laptop so you might get lemon

1050Ti isn't worth it anymore IMO since you can get 1650, unless you want special spec like i7+144Hz

Raven SE base spec has only 1050 GPU

Which configuration you've chosen? Did you tick all the additional upgrades?

Nitro 5 with 120Hz low sRGB IPS FYI, not higher quality 144Hz

Thanks man, already placed a booking for y7000 se with the said configuration.

Hope it can last long and the cooling won't be that hot.

I can guide you on thermal testing once you've received the laptop, just to make sure thermals are normal

Thanks man.. Was just reading about gaming performance, and fps of around 40-50 should be enough to enjoy a game properly right? Or need >60fps?

I noticed most of the games especially AAA games wont be able to get >60 fps with gtx1650..
