Thank you!!
Thank you! Haha i don't think i will add on my budget to rm 4.5k as i am still a student, lack of allowance somehow. Assuming I will not use external monitor, would a lower graphic card be on for the laptop screen to capture? Is there any recommendations you would provide within rm3k range? Some recommended Illegear laptops, while I see people here saying Lenovo is a great brand. Dilemma haha, would love to hear your take on this smile.gif

if you look at the first page of the thread, TS recommended these for your budget range 3-3.5k

LENXCIMB 3001+ *Lenovo Legion 5 (AMD) customize 1650, optional 120Hz 45%, optional 80Wh battery
3125 Lenovo Legion Y530 81FV016UMJ 1050Ti
3148/3249 *Lenovo Legion Y7000 SE 81T0003FMJ / 81T0001HMJ 1650
LENXCIMB 3169+ *Lenovo Legion 5i customize 1650, optional 120Hz 45%, optional 80Wh battery
LENXCIMB 3345+ *Lenovo Legion 5Pi customize 1650, 80Wh battery
GAMEON 3348+ *Lenovo Legion Y540 15 customize 1650

but if your budget is 3k and below, you could only look into Acer Nitro 5, Asus TuF 15 older models. Bear in mind that most laptop below 3k comes with 4gb/8gb stick ram, when you wanna upgrade it there is additional cost, especially with the 4gb ram. (approx RM300 to make it 16gb / RM170 to add 8gb stick). weird if its 4+8gb ram, as youl llose the dual channel capability (8+8)

Zm, nitro 5 1660ti really bad thermals?

I thought I can wait few more months but seems like the urgency started to kick in.
I've also noticed on some benchmark reviews that ryzen 3600 has a slight edge in performance vs the 4600h.
Wouldnt want to get too high end cpu as u know cpu usage will be low (wasted price per performance).
I've also looked into legion 5i, comes with 10300h (4c8t) where as Forge 15R amd 3600(6c12t) with a plus point that is somewhere 15-20% cheaper.
In short what's the best value I can get if I'm going for 1660ti gpu?

Will also look into the tech armory on above post. *

The new Nitro 5 (2020) has good thermals for 1650 GPU, not sure on 1660Ti config though.

3600 will run slightly hotter and draw slightly more power FYI. Also no iGPU means poor battery life.

Forge 15R 1660Ti has the best value if you want 1660Ti, however it's a desktop replacement laptop - weight+size will be slightly bulkier than 'normal' gaming laptops, and battery life is poor (max 2 hrs). Commandos Glock 5 Ace G2 is also a decent option, however I can't comment on their after sales. If you want established brand, Legion 5i 81Y6005FMJ with LENXCIMB code.
The web price of 81Y6005FMJ (1660ti) only differs around RM200 from 81Y6005GMJ (RTX 2060). I reckon the GMJ is a better option? (im not really a hardcore gamer, just occasional)
I cant find much info on PSREF on the m2 slot for either of those models as its pre-fitted with 256gb + 1gb hdd. Does it have 1 or 2 m2 slot? (asked Live chat, but they replied me 1, just to be sure)
Is i5 10300H with RTX 2060 a good combo? Its relatively a new combo, hardly can find much reliable reviews online.

Since you're not hardcore gamer, 1660Ti should be good, even though the 2060 upgrade is relatively cheap

5 / 5i / 5Pi all have x2 M.2 slots, however 1 slot is shared with 2.5 inch bay. So when the config is with HDD, the M.2 slot cannot be used

i5+2060 is fine, but in some CPU heavy games frame times might not be consistent / mediocre 1% lows / gameplay might be a bit shuttery

Greatly appreciated thanks.
