Hi pros, I am looking for a slim laptop with 15'' display, mainly used for work purposes, occasional movie. Always open many tabs on internet browser for work while working on excel, word, PDF files. Not so particular about weight as many seem to be standard below 2kg. My budget is around 3.5k-5k. I shortlist Yoga Slim 7 (15"), Thinkpad T15, Asus Vivobook S15 but not sure if which one is the best. Can i get some expert views on that? Any other recommended models also can, thanks alot in advance! |

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 10 2020, 06:18 PM) Thanks for the advice! I look at Lenovo website. Comparing ThinkPad T15 Gen 1- Build Your Own (RM3534.38) and ThinkPad T15 Gen 1 (RM3959.28) vs ThinkPad L15 (RM3764.45), it seem that that L15 has more value for money given the 16GB memory and also the powerful AMD processor? Sorry, i am quite an amateur on all these. just wondering why T15 seems to be more expensive than L15 when the look and design are the same? thanks once again! Btw, all of them need more than 8 weeks of shipping except for ThinkPad T15 Gen 1 (RM3959.28), u think this is good? |

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 11 2020, 02:44 PM) You can apply coupons for more discount. T15 can upgrade RAM also. Personally would pick Ryzen 4000 thanks again!T series is 1 class higher than L series more than 8 weeks means long wait time, probably will not be 8 weeks but more like 4-8 weeks so T14 AMD would be an ideal compromise in your view? |

T14 can customise the processor to AMD Ryzen 7 pro 4750U whereas T14s only allows the standard Ryzen 5 pro 4650U.
Is there a big difference between the 2 AMD chips? i would like the slimmer T14s, but wonder if 4750U will be more worthwhile, thanks sifus |

may i know if anyone that has bought T14 or T14s experiences any thermal or overheating issue ? I read online that T14s has single heat pipe, so it gets overheated easily....
