what i mean is i can buy consumer model for business environment?
because i heard that must use commercial unit for business..
*
No such restrictions.... the main reason for business class laptops is for the ease of repair/upgrade (by the IT departments of businesses) + durability... specific example: Lenovo's Thinkpads/Thinkbooks.....

MS will/may fine businesses if they use illegal software by them:Office...regardless of the laptop class/device you use...

Thinkbook is Ideapad rebrand (consumer grade)
*
Lower end "business class" as designated by lenovo themselves.... quality like a high-end ideapad but for business with features no ideapad has: spillproof keyboard....

At the moment the games using emulator, not the graphic/resource hungry ones.

Prefer lighter ones, but the screen size minimum is 13.3 inch, max is 14 inch. Can be FHD or UHD.

Thanks.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 (14), with UHD, ice-lake CPU w MX330/350 option... RM4.6k to 4.9k...

Hi guys,

I’m currently looking for an ultra book with the following preference:

-thin and light (below 1.4kg)
-not for heavy gaming (max also maybe csgo)
-4K display is an advantage
-preferably i7 gen10
-ssd500gb
-16gb ddr
-budget below 6k if possible

I have short listed:

X1 carbon, yoga c940 and x390. Please advise and suggest other brand if I missed out any good models out there.
*
Specifically 4k....Yoga slim7 (14)

I don’t mind picking the yoga. But also to add on:

I don’t need a touch scree that the yoga is offering,
The thinkpad keyboard is really an advantage.
*
Actually the Yoga slim 7 (14).... does not do the 360 Yoga.. and does not touch/pen support....limited to 8gb (lenovo my) RAM though

FYI i5 ULV and i7 ULV don't have much performance difference

Keep in mind that UHD/4k display will have shorter battery life and windows scaling issue in general. You still prefer 4k display?

low sRGB = colours less vibrant. I guess you need high sRGB?
*
However i7 10710U big difference... 2 additional cores...

Was thinking the same too. And I plan to keep the laptop for a few years so i7 might help before I need to get a new replacement.
*
it's the long in tooth 14nm..... wait for a month or 2 for the 8 core 4000 series @7nm

Will that 8core be an issue given my budget below 6k? I don’t need an over kill processor.
*
Should not be too much of a price premium....should be similar to the 3000 variants now...

Any idea for the units that the Lenovo website states “ship in 5 days” takes to arrive in kl? I check with the online customer care they told me can receive in 7-8 working Days while ppl from Lenovo digital mall said usually 7-8 weeks.
*
Given that many factories in China are off-line... it'll be difficult to give a time even by Lenovo themselves... especially with customised parts (build to as the order comes in..)...

I change my mind now and looking for lightest + high performance to edit 4K video.

Well if you want to view the full 4k resolution too... slim 7 with intel 10nm ice-lake, note AMD's 7nm variant will be hopefully release soon too...

dGPU combine with Ice-lake's G4/G7 instructions will speed up decoding/encoding... edit: Unfortunately cannot apply to Slim 7 options @Lenovo MY...

Hi guys,

I'm not sure should I get the Intel 10th gen i5 or Ryzen 5?
Which one is better?
*
Ryzen 5 4500U & 4600U > Both i5 of Ice lake -U and Comet Lake -U.... 6 cores vs 4 cores.

The price shown is not correct. The added price for the bag is RM85.

Ooo... I thought is cheap after the discount.
*
The lowest end "comet-lake i5" 10210U is used in budget ultra-portable laptops at less than half the price (around 2k)... The CPU performance-wise is Nothing special (& I'm typing this on a 10210u laptop).

Encoding/decoding videos could be better server even with the iGPU on the ice-lake 1065G7....

Then again Intel will be launching the 11th gen Tiger Lake G7....that looks to have even better iGPU than 4000series Renoir...

then I should wait lo?
*
Intel's announcement will be next month.... however apple also just announce their own ARM based processor that's purported (demoed) a beast in encoding/decoding three 4k streams at the same time......

Buy what you need at the time (the benefit of tech foresight only gives you 6 mths to a 1 year buffer)... there's always better things down the pipeline... never ending waiting game...
