Hello, will be shooting in container terminal factory for the first time, a company that hire me to shoot their container / environment of the factory for magazine use. Any tips for a first timer ? I've only been shooting human / scenery / weddings, so container is a totally new environment for me, I know I definitely need a tripod, but what else do i need to get ready for ? Would appreciate some tips and advice.

Might worth to ask if you can shoot the exterior during sunrise/sunset (depending on which direction is facing the sun). This is outside of normal working hours of course and they might decline. So explain why it would result in better photos.

I don't know how this factory works but probably need to make sure anyone you photograph is wearing appropriate safety gear for the task/location. Including yourself, of course.

Bosses would appreciate some portraits shoots as well smile.gif

I see, thank you for the pointers ! Is shooting the containers and factory environment about the same as shooting landscape / buildings ? I just have to find the right angle here and there, the rest is vice versa ?

I do know that I have to go very small aperture f stop to get very deep depth of field, and shoot it in AV mode, but what about the focal length ? will anything between 28-55 do ?

U can always Google image "container factory" and see how others did it. Of coz not saying, copy 100%. Might even give u ideas not to capture overused shots too.

You'll need wide shots to show the place (using 28 mm) and some detailed shots e.g. people working (using 55 mm).

for something more specific, read up on keystoning. It's about making sure your lines are straight.
