PUTRAJAYA: Two company officials are in hot water for allegedly attempting to bribe a government official with hundreds of thousands of ringgit to stay out of trouble with the law.

However, they made the wrong move as the enforcement officer with a certain ministry reported them to the Malaysian Anti-Corrup­tion Commission (MACC).

Sources said the two had collaborated to offer bribes to the officer.

“In return, the company officials want the enforcement officer not to take action against them for carrying out illegal deposit-taking activities sometime back in July 2017,” said a source.

The chief executive officer and adviser were arrested by anti-graft officers yesterday as they probe into the complaint.

The CEO, a 49-year-old woman with the title Datuk Seri was arrested at the MACC headquarters at 5.30pm.

The adviser, a 55-year-old Datuk, was arrested at Dutamas Raya in Kuala Lumpur at 11.30am.

MACC director of investigations Datuk Seri Simi Abd Ghani (pic) confirmed the arrest.

He said they would be brought before a magistrate today for a remand order.

Actually MLM got many types.

Before I join BE International, I'm same like u guys anti mlm. Like Lampajer, excel, and so on always want to trap ppl with dubious gathering session.

Then I found out what's money game, pyramid scheme, direct selling and their differences.

I can tell u that direct selling is a very good platform. Just that the players is too greedy to achieve something in shortest period of time. Hate the players, not the game.

MonSpace demands apology from MP over claims(May 2017)

Multi-level marketing company MonSpace (M) Sdn Bhd has issued a letter of demand to Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng for allegedly defaming it.

Local daily The Star reported that the letter, issued yesterday on behalf of its CEO Datuk Seri Jessy Lai and former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan, wanted Lim to make an open apology within seven days. Musa is the president of MonSpace Net Inc, a subsidiary.

“Our clients, being a renowned multinational corporation, and individuals have suffered injury to their image and reputation, especially among their customers and the public as a result of the defamatory statements made by you,” the letter read.

The letter was issued by Musa and Lai's lawyers, Messrs Shafee & Co.

Lim was alleged to have made the defamatory statement at a press conference here on May 13.

According to the letter of demand cited by The Star, the DAP lawmaker had insinuated at the press briefing that Musa was paying bribes to government officials, including those from Bank Negara Malaysia, to keep MonSpace “protected”.
