The burden of proof is on the tax payer.
If u got caught and fail to comply..LHDN may issue estimate assessment based on whatever data they have..and u need to prove it otherwise within 30 days which is hard if u don't have valid documentation to support u.
So the rule of thumb if u don't have anything to support your claim..meet and discuss with them before they issue the assessment. Once assessment issued everything must be in black & white.
