Hi all,

I have one 3tb WD blue hdd. Recently, i noticed the hdd easily went to 100% even after restart. The hdd only for storing files. Then, I deleted all partitions for the hdd and recreated the partitions in it (1tb+1tb+800gb). I run chkdsk on all partition, both 1tb partitions completed without problems and no error reported. However on third partition, it stucked at 49-50% and i have terminated the task. Then i run again surface test using easeus partition manager, around 49-50%, it started slowing down....

Im thinking to send this back this hdd to wd...but maybe some experts here might have some ideas how to fix this

Thanks

Yes, run Crystal disk info, if the smart status is yellow, time to RMA.

Sign of HDD failure is takes forever to access files, and scanning disk as well, it will take from weeks to forever to complete if you ever need to recover files or just running disk check.

yes, it is very likely your hdd is dying

use the crystal disk info to check your hdd health as suggested above.

if it is unhealthy, backup your files asap before it's too late.

Download the WD Diagnostic tool and use the quick + extended test. If any test fail, then you should try to RMA.

Also backup any data on your drive first.

Usually Crystal disk info is more than enough for things like that. And we see no other problems really here. Please let me know what you've got from some other programs ? Like other poster asked you to do so, I highly doubt to see anyting, my SATA 2 drive also behaving like that sometimes.
