i dont quite understand the 3 different types of display options for Raven
is it each particularly made better suit for gaming / movie ?

is it possible to make Raven into 3 channel RAM?

15.6" Full HD Anti-glare Display featuring IPS / AHVA sRGB 100% Wide Color & Wide View (1920 x 1080) <- More colorful, the same display we use on LAGUNA.
15.6" Full HD Anti-glare 144Hz IPS Display with sRGB 100% Wide Color & Wide View <- 144Hz sRGB display

does this means default display look more dull than 2nd option?

whats the major difference of 144Hz to normal 60Hz in term of gaming perspective?

if you put side by side then it's noticeable. Personally I'll prefer 144Hz high sRGB
*
sRGB is the color strip, yes?
can u say more of ur own experience with low & high Hz?
been seriously considering of buying a Raven, but really budget constraint, better display = higher price
need to know more of display before clicking on purchase button

sorry if my questions annoyed you

Hi steevan1000, yes we are able to offer a display panel upgrade for RAVEN after purchase. However, the refresh rate capability would be depending on the graphics card equipped on the laptop.

The CPU and the GPU of the laptop are soldered onto the motherboard. Thus, an upgrade is only possible if the whole motherboard is replaced (counts as a new motherboard purchase).

However for our laptops, the RAM, HDD, SSD, SSHD, wireless card as well as the warranty duration can be upgraded in the future after laptop purchase is made smile.gif Kindly note that opening the back panel of the laptop to upgrade/service/replace the components inside will not void the warranty of the laptop~
*
so this means if upgrading from 1050 to 1650 also need change new motherboard?

sRGB is colour coverage. Higher = more vibrant colours

I tried low sRGB 60Hz and high sRGB 144Hz (now using). 60Hz IPS usually has ghosting due to high response times while 144Hz IPS have little to none in general. In game the image is very smooth with high refresh rate panel

Some ppl are fine with low sRGB. Depends on you. As I said, the difference will be obvious if you compare side by side.

Of course, GPU is soldered on board
*
so this means the same if originally was i5 + 1650, then wanna upgrade to i7 + 1650, GPU also buy new as it is soldered on the board? or can reuse the old 1650 from i5 put on new i7, only pay for new board no need pay for GPU again?

Hi steevan1000, yes it is possible but for best results, we would recommend the SSD to be submitted prior to the assembly process since we would be able to stress test the configuration as a whole with your SSD later smile.gif

Personal purchase experience:

Ordered a Raven SE-R on 26th of April, make full payment on the same day, item ready to ship out on 16th of May (Total 21 days, 15 to 16 working days), which is acceptable and close to the promise lead time of 14 working days.

Item handover to Gdex on 16th of May afternoon, then subsequently no more update from Gdex, last entry was item outbound from Gdex Damansara Perdana. As per today, after multiple attempt to get Gdex customer service to pickup their phone, their customer service response was oh i got no idea where is the parcel, we will get back to you if we found it. Yes, such an irresponsible courier.

As per today, i still haven't receive my laptop, so i can't comment on the quality of laptop and i am not too sure will i receive my laptop in the end.

For the courier part, i guess maybe it is out of control from Illegear team, but choosing a responsible delivery partner should be part of the shopping experience as well.

So now i am hanging, Illegear team can't do much since the item is already with courier, and courier side will only reply with standard respond like we will check, we will get back to you etc (which it never happen).

Overall, it is a HORRIBLE shopping experience. I will leave another review regarding the laptop quality if i ever receive it. Hopefully this help those still considering buying or not.

ILLEGEAR Guys, where is the PROMISED laptop by this week?!
Really regret buying from this company, Should have go for Level51 Laptops~~
*
level51 also similar waiting time, not really that significant better than illegear
unless someone else have exact same spec ordered as yours & the person not urgent, then maybe they will let u take that person's laptop home first

else it's the same waiting game
