Hmm I honestly feel Illegear should really do something about their delivery process. Too many complaints of super late delivery.
At least update the customer about the delay? And inform on the reliable delayed delivery date? Otherwise customers are just waiting there until don’t know when

Now I worry my laptop will arrive in few months later lol

Placed an order in early May and still waiting for delivery.

Basically lots of empty promises from their CS.

Getting increasingly disappointed day-by-day.

I finally received the laptop last Monday after nearly a month of waiting. there were a lot of boxes in the shop, i guess Illegear sales indeed did quite well.
I concurred with above suggestion. Customers pay thousands of RM and looking through the comments here, it seems that customers had to chase Illegear for updates on their purchases. Illegear should have the courtesy to update customers or at least put a proper ETA.

Yes, it only after some chasing that my order got shipped out. Ultimately, it was the expectation that I would get my order within 7-14 days that affected my opinion of Illegear. They could have managed it better by not promising "fast" delivery, especially during a difficult time and with the Raya holidays approaching.

Of course, if they had given a more realistic ETA, I might have gone with another brand instead.

Update & Semi-review:

Received my Onyx V yesterday after 31 days since placing the order. I may have been "out" of the PC gaming/laptop scene for too long, but what I experienced so far impressed me very much. The build quality of the laptop was great, with a very sturdy feel. The screen looks great and the thermals are manageable (so far). Getting 100 fps at the highest setting on most games doesn't seem to be a problem for the laptop. The only con I have for now is the strange, tinny-sounding (so-called) THX speakers.

TLDR first impressions are very good. I am pleased with my purchase, despite some hiccups during the delivery process. Time will tell if the laptop holds up over time.

Can I know what are the temperature you’re getting at avg and also max?

I'm still exploring the options and getting used to monitoring my CPU and GPU temps, but a test I did maxed out at around 87°C running at "game" mode (not turbo).

Will update once I have done more monitoring over time running actual games and post some figures here.

Just a little update after running some games and monitoring the temps.

Basically, using the Illegear Command Center Operating Modes:

- Game mode results in my GPU reaching 87 C and my CPU hitting dangerously close to 95 C
- Turbo mode results in a slight decrease in GPU and CPU temps but both are still around the high 80s C
- Fan boost gives me temperatures hovering between 70 - 75 C but is, well, very noisy

Is this common gaming laptops or is there something I can do to fix it?

For a gaming laptop it is normalfor CPU to be running around 80-89°C While GPU is normal below 85°C. But your ambient temperature also plays a huge role on your cpu and gpu temps. U can try downloading intel XTU and undervolt ur CPU to an extent that is stable for ur machine. Other measure of reducing temps is changing ur thermal compund/paste to a better one. But currently in the market illegaer already equipped their laptop with the best(thermal grizzly kryonaut).

Just make sure ur fans is running as it should. They run in higher rpms (gets louder) corresponding to your cpu temps. If it is silent throughout, then it has a problem which illegear has yet to release a with bios/ec fix.

I have to turn on the fan boost manually in order to get the fans running at higher rpms. Using the Game Mode or Turbo Mode in the Command Center is actually quite silent.

I guess the Command Center is not adjusting the fans as it should right now.
