QUOTE(xyz_cityhunter @ Oct 29 2019, 11:22 PM) Ok, thanks for the info and hopefully a follow-up on that. 100% will fit. Wanna know why? Just grab the nearest ruler, and try to find 1mm. Notice how small it is? Then think for a second how small 0.2mm or 2/10ths of that 1mm is. There is practically no difference between 7 and 7.2mm drives. You will need special tools to even measure 0.1mm differences lol This post has been edited by ghostcommand: Oct 29 2019, 11:36 PM

I don't think you can undervolt any new Illegear laptop.
By default, the factory already undervolt by -50mv and they lock the BIOS to prevent users from configuring the voltage. Maybe they scared people undervolt too much and then the system not stable.
For gaming, you definitely need to plug in. The battery is not strong enough to provide more than 50W for the CPU/GPU which needs the power. That is why you have a charging brick rated at least 120W.

QUOTE(Sam0601 @ Aug 1 2020, 02:52 PM) Hi Price J. Is there any way to let us undervolt the CPU? cause it's seem like Illegear bios doesn't support it. Cause I realize the CPU is getting crazy hot , around 97-99 degree celcius. So I'm thinking try to undervolt it. Afaik, only the older models (8th gen Intel and some 9th gen models with older BIOS) can be undervolted manually by XTU or Throttlestop. Out of the box, all Illegear models already have a factory undervolt of -50mV. Newer models with the latest BIOS versions do not allow undervolting above -50mV, probably due to people bricking their laptop from undervolting too high. Thus there is no way you can undervolt higher for the new models.. Generally speaking, Intel CPUs run very hot around 90-95C under heavy load so that's pretty normal for almost all gaming laptops. The 144Hz panel is much better in all aspects compared to the 120Hz monitor.. much brighter, better response time, better colour accuracy

I don't think you guys understand. The latest Nvidia driver does not recognise the Nvidia GPU on the new Rogue + Onyx V Ryzen models. Only the Nvidia driver from Illegear support site (442.80) recognises the hardware.
Clean uninstall using DDU does nothing to fix the problem. Most probably the laptops are so new that Nvidia drivers don't recognise the hardware ID.
Only solution is to wait for Nvidia to release a new driver that recognises the hardware

QUOTE(ojassed @ Aug 7 2020, 09:13 PM) I have intel driver assistant installed and its popping up with a intel graphics driver update lately. Is it safe to update to that? (Raven SE-R 9th gen) Not safe. The wrong driver install will cause GPU performance to tank. Better stick to the drivers already provided by Illegear. OEM drivers are guaranteed to work for their specific models. Just update your Nvidia driver when the latest games come out on a regular basis (if you are a gamer). QUOTE(Wazzzap @ Aug 17 2020, 07:22 PM) Just want to share my experience here. I purchased an s5 laptop about 3 years ago (about RM7k). It has some problem lately and I send it back to Illegear for diagnostic. Apparently they told me that my mobo is faulty but when I ask which part of the mobo is faulty and what causes it they didnt answer me and told me to get a new laptop because it is not worth fixing or replacing. So I wasn't satisfied with their way of handling this, I took back my laptop and send it to a specialist and he told me that it was the GPU problem and now I just need to spend a few hundred change the chip and good to go. Imagine if I didn't go for 2nd check I would have just burn my 7k down the drain??? This is so unprofessional and such poor service provided from their tech team. Disappointed. Never going to buy from them again. I doubt the repair will last, did your 'specialist' change the entire chip or just do reballing (which will work short-term only)? GPU faulty is very hard to fix unless you have special tools and parts like Louis Rossmann Only time will tell. Keep us updated This post has been edited by ghostcommand: Aug 18 2020, 12:45 AM

QUOTE(gigigigi99 @ Aug 19 2020, 01:37 PM) Talk is easy , try stand on his foot , spent 7k for a machine that cant even last for 3 years, how is your feeling ? He mentioned the tech guy not even point out what is happen on the board but instead try to push him to fork out more money, another 3-4 k , i guess if you are rich , you would not mind to help him to pay ya You should ask Apple this question lol. My personal experience, tech guys are not so good at explaining, maybe the customer got the wrong impression the technician was trying to make him fork out extra $$. The tech guy doesn't get any commission, unlike you. The GPU chips Nvidia sell are not always the best quality. Just watch some Louis Rossmann videos on how lousy the Nvidia chips are on laptops This post has been edited by ghostcommand: Aug 19 2020, 10:17 PM

QUOTE(chancsy @ Aug 19 2020, 10:31 PM) Hi, want to ask, on Illegear website, some models mentioned Optimus (Raven, Rogue, Prodigy, Onyx, Onyx/Selenite Pro, Selenite, Ionic, some mentioned G-sync (Ares X), but some did not mention anything (Laguna, Ares V). 1) Is Laguna and Ares V has Optimus or G-sync? 2) Any Illegear laptops with both Optimus and G-sync (optimus bypassed)? Only those laptops with Optimus or G-sync will be stated in the description. Laguna does not have Optimus. 2nd, G-sync is only used on the most expensive models.

QUOTE(zhishuen00 @ Aug 21 2020, 02:17 AM) So... After 12 days of wait Illegear has finally notified me that my Rogue is ready for collection and I am going to collect it in the morning. Really hyped for the laptop, and I am willing to do a review if anyone is looking to also get a Rogue just for your references. I do have some questions about undervolting though, and would be really neat if someone can clear my doubts. My Rogue is running i7-10750H and RTX2060, in case this is necessary. 1. Can both the CPU and the GPU undergo GPU? 2. What happens if I undervolt too much? Does the laptop not boot or anything? And if so, how do I fix it? I'm relatively new to all these things so some detailed explanations would be good. Thanks in advance. Don't undervolt unless you really know what you are doing. If you brick the machine, you can't fix it, you have to send to TongFang for repair

QUOTE(amir.asyraf @ Aug 22 2020, 07:42 AM) 1. You can undervolt both. I personally haven't done it for the GPU because it's such a hassle. 2. Worst that could happen is an unstable undervolt offset (the one that crashes) gets applied when Windows start. Make sure when you're stress testing the program you use to undervolt isn't applying the setting on boot. In any case, you could just boot in safe mode to remove the voltage setting. This is true only for those older models and desktops. For newer laptops there is a chance you can brick the machine. It will not boot no matter what you do, I've seen it happen before

QUOTE(jack2 @ Dec 21 2020, 11:09 AM) First, they do not offer free. When I asked for refund, they rejected due to one month past. After checked, I received on Nov 23 and I have reported here 1 or 2, weeks later. Now they claimed replacement is only 1 week.... Forget about it. I learned from this 1. Never buy any PC or notebook that doesn't have office or service in your state. Reason is, you never know if the parcel will be lost or damaged during sending. 2. Never buy customed made notebook. I think if they can't resolve it then you should get your refund, but you should send in to them so they can check the issue This post has been edited by ghostcommand: Dec 21 2020, 09:30 PM
