Hi, would like to know if any1 have the same problem as mine below with their raven se too:
-2 weeks into having the laptop, it keep crashing and getting stuck at bios while restarting. Brought to illegear to fix ended up changing the ssd.
-Just 1 week away from 1 year of owning the laptop, same problem again, laptop just randomly crashes. Again had to bring to illegear for fixing, also the battery was bulging too. Laptop stayed there for 3 weeks with little update, end up calling illegear, was told the laptop has been fixed (changed ssd again) and was just waiting for battery to arrive (another 2-3 weeks of waiting). I decided to collect the laptop first without the battery as it was almost sem end for my bro’s classes. Just as the laptop was being setup, the crashing started randomly again. Now have to bring back again to illegear tomorrow -.-
My thoughts: Has illegear’s parts quality dropped so badly over the years? My Older Z5 had little to no problems and still working fine till today.
Yea my Selenite got the same problem. Either the SSD or the RAM, not sure.
God dammit my illegear is acting up again with its crashes. First everything i click is unresposive. Then after a few clicks the mouse cursor unable to move and the screen stays like that while the laptop hangs. NO error NO BSOD. Have to hard restart by holding power button. Cannot ctrl+alt+del.
Only today i have to deal with this crap three times already. Luckily i wasnt doing any work that mightve caused me to lose my progress. What may be the cause for this? its very frusutrating. SSD OR RAM FAIURE? macam mau hantak ni laptop
same problem with my Selenite. I've lost and corrupted some my data several times now because of this
I noticed onyx and rogue Ryzen Nvidia GPU driver is quite old.. also the latest Nvidia driver doesn't recognize the GPU so cannot install.. stuck at version 442.80 with quite a few bugs
Anyone else have solution?
update la
you can't update manually? Or download GeForce Experience
Just want to share my experience here. I purchased an s5 laptop about 3 years ago (about RM7k). It has some problem lately and I send it back to Illegear for diagnostic. Apparently they told me that my mobo is faulty but when I ask which part of the mobo is faulty and what causes it they didnt answer me and told me to get a new laptop because it is not worth fixing or replacing.
So I wasn't satisfied with their way of handling this, I took back my laptop and send it to a specialist and he told me that it was the GPU problem and now I just need to spend a few hundred change the chip and good to go. Imagine if I didn't go for 2nd check I would have just burn my 7k down the drain??? This is so unprofessional and such poor service provided from their tech team. Disappointed. Never going to buy from them again.
Don't undervolt unless you really know what you are doing.
If you brick the machine, you can't fix it, you have to send to TongFang for repair
I highly doubt undervolting will brick any computer. The worst that could happen is an unstable undervolt gets applied at boot, in that case just start your computer in safe mode and remove the startup.
So... After 12 days of wait Illegear has finally notified me that my Rogue is ready for collection and I am going to collect it in the morning. Really hyped for the laptop, and I am willing to do a review if anyone is looking to also get a Rogue just for your references.
I do have some questions about undervolting though, and would be really neat if someone can clear my doubts. My Rogue is running i7-10750H and RTX2060, in case this is necessary.
1. Can both the CPU and the GPU undergo GPU? 2. What happens if I undervolt too much? Does the laptop not boot or anything? And if so, how do I fix it?
I'm relatively new to all these things so some detailed explanations would be good.
Thanks in advance.
1. You can undervolt both. I personally haven't done it for the GPU because it's such a hassle. 2. Worst that could happen is an unstable undervolt offset (the one that crashes) gets applied when Windows start. Make sure when you're stress testing the program you use to undervolt isn't applying the setting on boot. In any case, you could just boot in safe mode to remove the voltage setting.
Wow. Thanks for the share. Never knew that undervolting could result in a hard brick before. Guess all it takes was one minor mistake or friends pulling a prank then boom RMA needed. If the machine is running throttlestop to undervolt, it takes less than 1min to run it then change the voltage offset then save.
I think throttlestop is safer since it doesn't write anything to the BIOS

Hi, I am looking for a laptop with budget ~RM3700 (Onyx, Raven-SE, Rogue). Keyboard layout is very critical to me as I use numpad quite often. May I know which of these 3 have the best keyboard?
When it comes to keyboard you really need to test it out yourself at the showroom
If thats the case, would it be possible to move the cooling module of the 10th gen models on to older 9th or even 8th gen units? Would be nice to have the flatter heatsinks if the use of liquid metal is allowed in the future. The larger fans would be nice as they should move more air while spinning slower. Would it be possible to confirm this @Prince J?
Edit: Also i think Illegear should opt for the liquid metal on the GPU only in possible. From my own experience, using LM on the GPU did not net that big of a temperature drop as it does on a CPU. It is also more dangerous as there are SMDs right next to the GPU core and on the laptops i tried this on, i used 2 layers of conformal coating as well as very thin kapton tape in order to ensure that nothing shorts out on the GPU side. Just my two cents. Glad to see that Illegear is offering more options now
LM On the GPU doesn't make that much of a difference in my own experience. Others will obviously have different results of course. My experience comes from my Aorus X7v6 (6820HK and GTX 1070) with TG Conductonaut.
On the CPU, i got massive drops and very very even core temperature differentials. Easy 20 ish degrees Admittedly the 4 screw mounting system helps as well. When i used it on the 1070, there wasn't a ton of change. Around the 10 degree mark at most iirc. I switched back to Kryonaut on the GPU and left the LM on the CPU
LM on Illegear machines void warranty if applied by the end user i think. So i just repasted my CPU with Hydronaut cos its thicker and Kryonaut on GPU. Waiting on my Kryonaut Extreme to come in.
Do you notice any corrosion on the heatsink with liquid metal applied? Also, how often do you reapply?
Update to the Kryonaut Extreme application. So far in limited testing its performing much better in terms of core temperature differentials. Original application of the standard Kryonaut had around 10 to 15 degrees of difference between each core.
This new Kryo Extreme so far has dropped it to around 2 to 4 degrees between each core. Same thing happened on my dellided 8700K with its Rockitcool copper IHS.
OG Kryonuat did a decent job but the pump out was very bad. Haven't taken apart the Selenite to check for pump out yet. Either way, this was the result i was hoping for. Was getting sick of having to reapply the normal kryonaut because of how thin that paste is. Kryo Extreme is much thicker, somewhat comparable to the thickness of Hydronaut
Will try to do more testing when i have more time on my hands. Also looking to get my hands on KPx soon to try and find the best paste for my machines
Came across this Video on YouTube, goodness grace this thing looks like ILLEGEAR Selenite Pro thou its like carbon copy without the initial only. Eluktronics MAX- 17
you do know all those laptop manufacturers (Illegear, XMG, Level51, Eluktronics and etc) don't make their own laptop right? They get it from the same ODM like TongFang
