I just contacted the technical support contact provided via their facebook chat, it seems that the technicians don't understand that fan speed should be directly proportional to the temp, very frustrating, I don't want to put my ears through constant torture of Max fan sound even for normal use rclxub.gif

Hi lpcheng,

Our tech supports are not on Facebook messenger but Whatsapp: +60182618599 (Main tech support phone). They can be contacted on Monday (25th May Raya).

Can you let me know your facebook name? I cannot seem to find the conversation with you on our facebook page. Thanks.

Not every game require 100% fan to run, and the laptop goes to 90++ degree just with steam downloading a game, even a RM1k acer laptop knows how to increase fan speed to accommodate increase in temperature, I won't rant here if I'm not facing the problem, FIX IT!!
*
Hi lcpheng, just re-confirmed with the support manager Brenden who was conversing with you via Whatsapp. It's abnormal for RAVEN SE's fan not kicking in until 90++ degree Celsius by downloading game, it can be caused by wrong drivers installation or the hardware. Did you reformat your PC recently? Can we have your system to check next week?

Yeah...the same answer. Next week but not able to tell when exactly it will be. If I know delivery time will take almost a month...I will not make that order. Please deliver within May.
*
Hi happy_hippo,

We will deliver as per our promise don't worry smile.gif

You will receive your pre-order 10th gen prodigy in May.

Stop trying to blame your customer, I just got the laptop from you last week, means your technician wrongly installed drivers? I would be glad to send in the laptop but I'm over at Perlis at this moment, having waited for the laptop since April and it missing the ETA for 15 days, it's really a bummer. I would appreciate it if u can ask the technical team to provide me methods to self diagnose before sending it to you
*
Hi lcpheng, I am trying to resolve the problem.

What bout we arrange a reverse pickup from your house in Perlis?

Ya seriously. If OP is from illegear they can verify it from my order number. sad.gif

Hello Rosette, the IONIC 15 that you ordered was in preorder, the delay was also partially caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

user posted image

We also spent around 1 month period to re-work the IONIC keyboard and the keypress registration is greatly improved now, yous shall receive a notification on your order collection soon!

Thanks for sharing the link. We have contacted the user on the comment section to have him sent in the laptop so we can help in exchanging the battery and replace the hinge cover.

I'm seriously considering their Onyx Pro, seeing that they're offering the 8 core 10th Gen + RTX2070 Super, 16GB, 240Hz, 512GB SSD, Intel AX.

but with that config it pushes the price up to RM9XXX... which is almost equivalent to a lot of similar models in the market... and with RM9XXX it doesn't include the Windows OS.. (RM10,XXX with the OS).... and it can't charge through USB Type-C at 65W : ///////

If only they could offer more goodies, eg Windows included, RAM + SSD upgrade :/
*
Hi LarryPizza

Can I have your specifications to check what can we do for you?

QUOTE(theydontknow @ May 26 2020, 02:56 PM)
I am in the same boat as you, ordered on the same date Onyx Pro as well. Just curious, did they quote you a ETA when you made the order? Could not change to self collection as I do not live in KL.
Suspect that orders really increased during the pandemic and shortage of manpower/ MCO constraints has put a strain on their infrastructure. I really hope it comes soon because I need it for work.
*
May i have your order number to follow up your status? We have completed most of the 10th gen preorders except some prodigy and ionic due to factory capacity.

are you saying gaming laptop without charging is not suitable for gaming?
I tried. Without charging it will LAGGED.

Rimworld is not a graphic intense game.

*
Hi rapple, may I know what is the FPS you are getting on Rimworld using your ASUS in battery mode?

Kindly enable "Game Mode" in ILLEGEAR Command Center and the FPS should increase by about 20. We have just tested Rimworld in our RAVEN SE just now.

Most of the stuff in Asus (Model: K551LN) laptop is removed and lazy to reinstall back.

I tried but still lag. Fortunately Rimworld is a game you don't really DIE but looking at the game lag/spike really annoys me.

If you already know that gaming required the laptop to be plugged in all the time, why none of your sales team say it? There wouldn't be any dissatisfaction like now, if you guys say it upfront.

Back to the shipping, payment verification and invoice generating part, let me remind you the day I made an inquiry, confirm the specs & paid a booking. Then your team didn't even need to take 3 hour to generate a Quotation and then the Sales Order.

I just felt after you have received full payment the respond from you guys is just not the same.

Sorry, maybe my expectation is a bit too much from you guys.
*
Dear rapple,

Please find our Rimworld testing video on RAVEN SE battery mode (no plug in) as below:

Average fps is 50 and it's playable on battery mode (without plug in).

May I know what fps are you getting on your RAVEN SE Battery + Game Mode? To optimize the hardware performance, you may plug in your power adapter to get 120 fps and above in Rimworld.

In regards to the delay in invoice processing, can we get your order number to check on the sales representative phone? We did not just prioritize sales processing because after-sales to us is equally important. In fact some quotation / sales orders are only sent to customers after 2 to 3 days as well due to limited labor force during MCO/CMCO.

Selenite 9750H, 2060 model. 3 Cell 47 Wh battery which I wanted to upgrade to 63Wh but the ones which they had in stock "didn't meet Illegear's standards". Current one has swollen in 10-11 months which should not be acceptable anywhere. It shouldn't give problems within the warranty duration.
*
Hi SaiyanGoku,

63Wh will be in stock late june, it will be shipped together with our container of mass production goods.

Meanwhile, DHL hasn't gotten back to us regarding the air shipping to india, so we are unable to ship battery only via air freight to your country as it's classified as dangerous goods. We advise you to send in your laptop so we can assist you to fix the battery.

i guess 180W is not enough for raven SE-R.....it draw my battery power as well

any other raven SE-R with 10750h/2060 owner facing this issues as well here?

180W is enough for RAVEN SE-R.

QUOTE(arslow @ May 28 2020, 10:49 PM)
It seems that the MAX 17 (should be similar to Selenite I believe for Illegear) has something called Eluktroboost which enables the GPU to pull in more wattage than the usual 115 watt for
The rtx 2070 Super variant so that there is an actual perf difference between rtx 2070 and rtx 2070 Super. The mech 15 g3 (or Onyx G) should have the same tech in it too.

Does illegear do that too, or is it still limited to 115 watts?
*
Let me get back to you later. We do have the GPU Boost in 9th gen ONYX & SELENITE as well as current RTX2060 80W lineup (boost to 90W).

These can be adjusted in Command Center, our tech support can help on that 0182618599 (WhatsApp).

Thanks man. I'm so itchy to get the onyx G that I'm trying my best to find more justifications to get it and not wait for ryzen tongue.gif
*
Hi arslow,

According to ODM ID during concall, the maximum power is 115W, anything above that will easily cause the GPU power MOS to be burnt. However, it's fine to do boosting from 80W to 90W on RTX2060.

Hmm I honestly feel Illegear should really do something about their delivery process. Too many complaints of super late delivery.
At least update the customer about the delay? And inform on the reliable delayed delivery date? Otherwise customers are just waiting there until don’t know when

Now I worry my laptop will arrive in few months later lol

Placed an order in early May and still waiting for delivery.

Basically lots of empty promises from their CS.

Getting increasingly disappointed day-by-day.
*
Hi there, can i have your order numbers to check?

QUOTE(yongchin89 @ Jun 1 2020, 04:02 PM)
what game you played? still hoping to get bios and EC update from them as they say it is not power supply problem
i dont think battery is located at the top area as you mentioned there, but you mean the casing shape is not flat right between keyboard and monitor, mine also
it kinda stress the battery keep on charging all the time until game stopped!

What's EC?
*
Hi there,

We have feedback to ODM Tongfang and they are investigating with ID in regards of the battery level drop in gaming. Will post an update of the BIOS/EC soon!

Raven SE-R 2060 here, with the same problem. The battery charge will reduce when playing games even while plugged in. Sometimes the battery will stop charging at 9x %. I unplug the power cord and plug it back in, then it will resume charging to 100%.
I think my battery is slightly swollen (the area above the F9, F10, F11, F12 keys), not sure whether it's my eyesight problem. Laptop is only 6 months old, I don't have the time to bring in the laptop to Illegear office yet.
*
If your battery is swollen, the area that bumps up is the touchpad / palmrest area, not the Fx keys area. You may send in to check to see if the screws are loosen up or not.

QUOTE(yongchin89 @ Jun 1 2020, 04:16 PM)
battery is at bottom part, there area there i notice it is bump out abit also on my raven se, i think it is design or manufacturing flaw, i just tutup one eye
and yeap, it is hot as i really can fry egg there
*
Shouldn't have bump on RAVEN SE, kindly check if you screw back your bottom chassis nicely.

As for the top part of the laptop, it's normal to be hot as that's the area where we place the heatsink.

that bump ah, u got try when you hold your laptop and open your screen? haha, when i hold and open it, it will hit the monitor bottom hinge abit but didnt happen when i put on table
i guess it really flimsy with plastic material
*
If you are talking about the plastic elasticity, yes it does bent while you open your laptop with your hand holding the middle part of the laptop. Actually not just plastic, even if the laptop is made out of aluminium alloy it also tends to bent if you hold this position, that's normal.

user posted image

The RAVEN SE has a gap between the hinge cover and the top A cover, it won't touch the hinge cover unless there is an external force to close the gap in between.

Hope clarify.

same problem
the gap is wider on left & right side, very small in the middle. If the laptop is not on flat surface then the part below Illegear logo will scrap the hinge cover (?). I put my laptop on a stand, so I can notice this behaviour when closing/opening screen.

I don't see this behaviour with old illegear S4.
*
Hi eurayle,

May i know how do you place your laptop, how do you open? We will try to see if we can replicate on our end, thanks!
