Sony itself is manufacturing more of the disk model, compare to digital. It totally expects more demand for disk model.

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Sep 25 2020, 09:38 AM) judging from the current news of next gen game size and the price of the expandable storage from other side (RM1K for 1TB)... it doesn't looks good IMO I thought it was already said that there is slot for extra storage for PS5?- 1TB gonna get filled up very fast - Still no news from Sony on how we can upgrade the SSD storage, 1TB NVME PCIE 4 SSD also cost a bomb nowadays, RM1k+, doubt Sony is generous enough to add in a secondary storage slot |

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Sep 25 2020, 02:29 PM) where? mind sharing the source? https://www.pushsquare.com/guides/which-ssd...atible-with-ps5AFAIK Sony only said the storage is expandable, but never said how IMO an additional NVME slot for storage upgrade which majority of us won't be using is very unlikely It's effectively killing off their own future consoles revision with higher storage capacity Why would I go buy a new 2Tb version of PS5 if I can just go buy off the shelf 1TB SSD that's compatible and plug it in? or just go buy a much cheaper 512Gb SSD to make it 1.5Tb? MS is doing it differently, at least they'll profit from the sales of their proprietary expansion module, and MS is always very anal about upgrade/changing your own storage. Sony/Mark Cerny mentioned before they going to publish a whitelist of SSD to use in order to maintain the performance |

QUOTE(playxboxwii @ Sep 26 2020, 08:15 PM) Hi all it depends on the game publisher, not Sony.Sorry if the question already asked before Assuming im using ps5 with disc How does the free ps4/ps5 dual entitlement upgrade works? Only digital or disc also can? If disc, will it detect the game as ps5 game using ps4 disc? Or it will detect it as ps4 game? For e.g, CD Projekt Red is giving free PS5 upgrades for Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Oct 6 2020, 10:14 AM) yeah and xbox has ready add on for the expandable storage. PS5 fuk it man, they cannot let u put 2 drive. at least u can have 2 drives working in series, ps5 they give u 800gb, u upgrade aslo buy 1tb only for now more worth money, then u also expand 200gb only, got wat use that 200gb lol. hmm, what u mean? PS5 own SSD is soldered onto the board. And there will be another NVME slot for you to expand storage. Isn't that the case? Unless I understand wronglyQUOTE(Deathhunter @ Oct 6 2020, 10:16 AM) I believe SONY will release a firmware update later on to add external HDD support just like they did with PS4 No, they can't for PS5. They need the blazing fast SSD speed to maintain PS5 game performance. The best scenario is if they allow moving game files between SSD and external HDD (but can't play until it's moved back to SSD) |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Oct 6 2020, 10:31 AM) cos i see ppl say the ssd take out also cannot use at other place because of the proprietary controller, so i tot it is removable? Even if it's removable, why u want to remove it? hahaApart from PS5 own SSD, I thought there should be an expansion bay for another SSD (3rd party but need to be whitelist by Sony) |

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Oct 6 2020, 10:41 AM) No, it's a customized NVME SSD using the the M.2 slot, you can swap out that original SSD with your own NVME SSD, similar on PS4 with sata HDDs won't there be another M.2 slot?unlike PS4 sata HDDs, where you can reuse anywhere else, it's unlikely our PC will recognize the original PS5 NVME SSD due to it's customized firmware Is it confirmed there will only be 1 M.2 slot? |

QUOTE(LegendLee @ Oct 6 2020, 10:51 AM) Btw. I’m referring to external storage via usb 3.2 on the PS5. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/samsungs-...5/1100-6482472/For the additional nvme slot, it might be possible to play ps5 games in it. But you’ll need very high end and specific ssd to play on. I’m guessing it’ll be more expensive than the XBOXSX expansion. Around $230 vs Xbox $220. Not much difference... Anyway, will have to wait for official list or announcement by Sony on 3rd party SSD |

We should just go stage a protest and disrupt TF-AMD factory in Penang
then the whole world cannot get their PS5 and even Xbox |

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Nov 2 2020, 03:23 PM) A lot might be shocked that the game will be at RM300 a piece. I just can't wait for the reaction. confirmed those PS group in FB will create new posts and complain about pricing Way too expensive for me. Another reason people should at least wait for a slimmer PS5 version, and play the games later for cheap. |
