i see ps5 presentation and external storage use nvme ssd that available in market, xbox series-x external storage use custom ssd and the price will be expensive, also the loading time in ps5 is faster than xbox series x.
*
Both of the SSDs will be expensive and I think its gonna be more expensive for the PS5 for the time being because their requirements are gonna be higher, maybe in a couple of years the prices will go down and then it will be cheaper than the XBOX cartridge style SSD.

As expected.
Not all PS4 games are compatible at launch.

PS5 would be slightly weaker than the X-SeX. Just like the XoneX and the PS4 pro. Not surprising there. So it probably can’t hit 4k 60fps consistently.

However my concerns would be the variable speed and the heat management. How much it’ll throttle highly depends on that.

Let’s see how this goes. This confirms that I won’t be the very early adopter.
*
yea but the Pro came out a whole year earlier no? And it was cheaper too. It sucks that its less powerful but I hope its priced well. Price atm is the most important, although I am probably gonna spend whatever the cost LOL. Maybe $499 for PS5 and $599 for Series X. I don't know if 100 dollars difference is gonna be enough, maybe $450 and they will probably win this so called console wars.

Anyone has any good 4k 60hz 27 inch Monitor with good HDR support which can fully utilsed PS5 feature to recommend in Malaysia?

dont think so is worth going for 120hz as advertise when all their game is focus on 4k 30 FPS-60FPS. am i right?
*
I have used LG UK 650 and I do like it, 4K HDR (not HDR 10 tho) and IPS, I think those were the combos I was looking for when I purchased it. But I actually disabled HDR because it kinda hurts my eyes for some reason LOL, other than that the monitor is great.

What displays will you guys be rocking for next gen? Idk if I should be looking at some higher refresh rate 4k monitor so that I can vary games with 4k mode or performance high refresh rate mode.

It may appear to be cheaper at first but just after purchasing 2 games  its gonna be expensive moving forward.
With the disc version you can trade games.  After selling the 2 games you already recover the cost of purchasing the disc version.
*
Really depends on the individual, you could save by buying games digitally after a year or so also during some sale. For me the price difference isnt big enough for me to cheap out and go for the cheaper one. But i could buy the cheaper one and spend the difference on an extra SSD. Either way its a multi year investment so no point being cheap about it.

judging from the current news of next gen game size and the price of the expandable storage from other side (RM1K for 1TB)...  it doesn't looks good IMO

- 1TB gonna get filled up very fast
- Still no news from Sony on how we can upgrade the SSD storage, 1TB NVME PCIE 4 SSD also cost a bomb nowadays, RM1k+, doubt Sony is generous enough to add in a secondary storage slot
*
At least with Sony's way, the prices of the SSD will eventually go down with time, but MSFT idk

Xbox series X already have hands on preview to selective youtuber tell all what is great regarding xbox like quick resume, fast loading time, backward compatible with old games and with ps5 no information to share on social media and YT like systems UI, quick resume and fast loading times, and right now with only 45 days to go till lunch, many gamers that its on fence will buy xbox series x, sony need to step up and share more information.

Apologies if I posted on a wrong thread.
Wanna ask will the price of ps4 drop due to the release of ps5? Currently ps4 are still quite pricey and how much roughly will be the price of ps5?
*
It will drop for sure, but I don't think is by the amount that you want.

PS5 gonna be 2k+

Only thing I'm surprised about is that they're using liquid metal for the TIM. Looks like all the shit they've gotten from their 5 cents TIM they used for the PS4, Slim and Pro has got them off their lazy asses to finally use better TIM.

Everything else though.... wow, lots of cost cutting I see going on.
*
Yea looks like that ... is the fan smaller than series x fan?

Really wish they would disclose more about what to expect when it comes to high refresh rate gaming. Is a 144Hz monitor with HDMI 1.4 good enough, or should I be looking for monitors with HDMI 2/2.1? Is 1080p 120fps gonna be a norm? If I am not mistaken COD is confirmed for a 120fps mode on the series X at least.

good news from other camp, next gen game tested (Dirt 5) on 1440p/120Hz, and it's can sustain 120Hz consistently

let's wait to see how PS5 can handle it

120Hz console gaming on TV is nearer than you think
*
Would be happy with even 1080p 120fps

What’s so salty abt not getting a PS5 early? Launch titles quite limited and I’m only interested in Demon’s Soul remastered.
I also have ps4 backlogs that i want to try. Maybe it’s time to finish Witcher 3 expansion biggrin.gif

Aint it getting a PS5 upgrade? Thats the reason why I stopped halfway lol
