QUOTE(greyshadow @ Oct 6 2020, 10:41 AM) No, it's a customized NVME SSD using the the M.2 slot, you can swap out that original SSD with your own NVME SSD, similar on PS4 with sata HDDs unlike PS4 sata HDDs, where you can reuse anywhere else, it's unlikely our PC will recognize the original PS5 NVME SSD due to it's customized firmware Can you link the source? As far as i know the original SSD that comes with the PS5 is soldered on, and there is a M.2 Slot for expansion.

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Oct 6 2020, 02:19 PM) but using an expandable M.2 slot will create another issue, most M.2 SSD today aren't as fast as the built in one IMO if you installed an uncertified one, it might still work, but you won't be able to get the performance similar to the internal SSD, so there could be another round of file juggling between the 2 storage for best performance? Samsung just released 980 Pro. Although it has not been whitelisted yet, the speeds are faster than the internal PS5 drive, and it is highly likely it will be whitelisted. Pricing is also similar to the Xbox expandable drive. The PS5 storage expansion implementation is way better IMO. When i sell off my PS5 eventually, at least i still can reused any M.2 drives i bought, instead of being stuck with proprietary drives

QUOTE(LegendLee @ Oct 7 2020, 09:03 AM) Just gotta be careful that most hdmi extractor do not support HDMI 2.1. Some might not even support HDMI CEC. Yea, but then again, most people would connect the PS5 to TV via HDMI, and let the TV output optical audio if necessary. If your TV does not have optical out, i doubt HDMI 2.1 would be part of your worries.

PS4 backwards compatibility officially confirmed. >99% games compatible and those that are incompatible are irrelevant. https://blog.playstation.com/2020/10/09/ps4...tions-answered/
