QUOTE(DukeHyou @ Sep 22 2020, 08:53 AM) what tv is best for ps5? is 4k 65" samsung tu7000 good enough If you're just casual, then any 4k TV should be sufficient, including the Samsung TU7000. Ideally, to extract the best possible performance out of PS5, you want a TV with HDMI 2.1 support (which includes features likes VRR), HDR10, 120Hz Display, low input lag. LG C9 or CX fits the bills, but they cost arms and legs.

4K120 is likely too far fetch for now, but get this, 4K resolution and 120fps does not have to be coexists.
There could be games running in 4K resolution in 30fps, and there could be less demanding but competitive games running at 1080p at 120fps (Fortnite for example). PS5 can run both types of games, so if you want to experience the best of em', your TV has to be able to run at 4k120, period.

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Oct 5 2020, 09:19 AM) Imagine going with the Digital Version - how many games can you install Well, you have to install the game with the Physical PS5 edition anyway, though you can install via local media instead of internet.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Oct 5 2020, 04:50 PM) You have to understand that XSX is not using the same SSD as the PS5. Sony's own SSD is proprietary, especially its controller. MS is mostly off the shelf, just with a custom PCB form factor. It's also why MS partnered with Seagate so that they can monopolize all external storage for the XSX. Yeah you can replace the PS5's SSD with a standard PCIE4.0 nvme drive, but you can't use the PS5's SSD anywhere else even if it could fit on your motherboard's m.2 slot. Wasn’t able to 100% debunk you back then. But the recent tear down just confirm the the SSD is soldered on and the NVME is an expansion slot. Cheers.

QUOTE(squall_12 @ Oct 7 2020, 09:22 PM) so from the design u see on the video is the ps5 cooling solution is good or bad? The liquid metal alone is going to helped tremendously. Liquid metal is pain in the arse to apply, you have to take account of the corrosion and the potential short circuit hazard, that’s why you don’t see them on most commercial products. The fact that they spent the effort to engineer and accommodate it into the design is the evidence of the effectiveness. Sony nickel coated the die to prevent corrosion and use sponge around the die to prevent spillage.

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Oct 9 2020, 12:27 PM) AMD is the biggest winner here both chips probably are made in the same factory in Penang gone were the days of competing consoles will be using different chips, it's actually surprising to see both camp using both AMD's CPU & GPU What is so surprising? The current gen PS4 and Xbox has been using AMD APU

No one knows until Sony announce. Everything at this point are merely speculation.
