QUOTE(Shinka @ Sep 29 2020, 02:48 PM) Nope, only the physical version. Pricing is still tentative, but should be around that figure. Digital version should be around RM100-200 cheaper? Less quantities as well. If we're basing off of US's pricing then the Digital version should be roughly rm400 cheaper.

No hurry to buy one at launch. I'm gonna wait till there are more good exclusives on the PS5 before getting it. PS consoles historically don't have a strong launch line up of launch titles. Another reason is I'm not a big fan of the console's design and the black and white color scheme doesn't help either. I'll wait to see if they'll release and all-black version. Or maybe a PS5 slim that doesn't include those hideous looking plates. The console looks like a wafer ice cream sandwich. lol
As for Xbox, their exclusives never really appeal to me so I'll stick to PS.

QUOTE(Shinka @ Sep 30 2020, 10:53 AM) Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think xbox has any hype in Asia, most gamers would still prefer the PlayStation or the switch instead of the xbox. The exclusive games offered by the xbox aren't even that attractive anyway. I would be surprised if the xbox can actually hit its sale targets in asean markets. Yeah, I think Xbox consoles usually don't do that well outside of the US and EU.

Even though he looks a bit too young, the new face definitely looks better, imo.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Oct 4 2020, 04:08 PM) Apparently PS5 is only going to have 664GB of usable space after provisioning and reserve for the OS. Lol. I read about that. I was hoping it would only take up roughly around 100GB like the PS4. On top of that PS5 game file install sizes could be bigger as well. 1TB should be at least the bare minimum.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Oct 5 2020, 03:24 PM) Doubt the OS is taking up that much space, it's space provisioning so the SSD can remain at its optimum speed for longer periods of time. SSD's performance can drop if you fill the NANDs up to the brim and the controller no longer has anymore spare flash space to rewrite data. The promise is that they're pushing devs to allow only certain parts of their game to be installed or uninstalled as required by the users. Works for games with SP and MP modes I guess, but ultra huge SP games? Uh yeah... that's another problem of its own. 1TB could have been the bare minimum, if you guys are okay with pay $600 for a console. How is MS able to price their Series X at $500 then? Also, IGN has said that the Xbox Series X has only 802GB left of useable space due to OS taking up some of that space.

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Oct 5 2020, 04:37 PM) Yeah. I should've said $499 but it's essentially $500 anyways.lol QUOTE(SSJBen @ Oct 5 2020, 04:50 PM) You have to understand that XSX is not using the same SSD as the PS5. Sony's own SSD is proprietary, especially its controller. MS is mostly off the shelf, just with a custom PCB form factor. It's also why MS partnered with Seagate so that they can monopolize all external storage for the XSX. Yeah you can replace the PS5's SSD with a standard PCIE4.0 nvme drive, but you can't use the PS5's SSD anywhere else even if it could fit on your motherboard's m.2 slot. Gotcha. Apparently the new Sony PS5 Pulse 3D Headset has 12 hours of battery life. I think the old PS4 Gold Wireless ones were only around 6 hours.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Oct 28 2020, 03:08 PM) It won't live up to its lofty expectations, trust me but don't ask me how I know. And Sony SG reports to Sony HK. The PS5 Pulse 3D headset looks stupid. I don't know why would anyone want to use it. I'll probably get it eventually when I get a PS5. Hopefully there's an all-black version by then. Also, it's cheaper than most branded PC headsets.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Oct 28 2020, 04:43 PM) There are a bunch of headphones that will sound better. If Sony is so serious about audio on the PS5 (like they did with the PS1), why would you want to compromise that experience? I only ever use headsets when I play multiplayer games (for communication) anyways. So it's not a big deal regarding better sound quality. Plus it's cheaper.

QUOTE(simmarjit @ Oct 28 2020, 04:40 PM) Just plasti dip the side panels, done. Lol. I don't like having to go through the additional hassle to customise something like that. It'll probably void the warranty if you do that as well. This post has been edited by DJ-Spike: Oct 28 2020, 11:53 PM

Why not buy the PS4 version and get a PS5 free update if there is one and save 10USD?

Even with all the flaws mentioned about the PS5, I'll still be getting it in the future instead of the Xbox Series X. For the past 10 years not one MS exclusive has made me considered getting an Xbox console. Plus is kinda lame that the XBox Series X doesn't seem to have even one exclusive at launch.
