Will Sony make an U-turn decision on this?
For me, I actually welcome this move, for us the "inter-region" gamers have been tortured in that XO purgatory hell since PS1 era

Oh yeah, the swapping of the O, X button for cancel & confirm doesn't sit well with their home base fans, most fans already flipping tables

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Oct 7 2020, 04:02 PM) Doing that often causes audio sync issues. Not all TVs has lip sync adjustment. cos some games has built-in button mapping which are unchangeableNot sure why they don't just have option for both, like they do now on the PS4. can't remember which games I played recently, on screen prompt me to press O to continue, I pressed O no response, have to press X, talk about confusion there also standardization lets the dev to waste lesser time for button mapping, just stick with right button as cancel, bottom button as confirm across all systems |

from my untrained eyes, I wouldn't say the PCB is engineered efficiently, a lot of wasted space there
I can safely say that a PS5s/PS5 mini is definitely coming in near future once they redesign the PCB using liquid metal for TIM is a major plus point there, but the fan, it's similar centrifugal type found in PS4, which contributed to the loud jet engine noise, compared to XBsX, axial type which runs quieter and has higher flow, Lastly the M.2 slot for storage expansion: Good point is it's easily accessible without the need of any tools, except a screw driver to screw down your SSD, also a lot of space there for those SSD with heatsinks Bad point is it looks like an enclosed space without any airflow, I don't see any air vents there, hope I'm wrong, as highspeed SSD can run very very hot! If it's an enclosed space without any airflow, your SSD got a huge heatsink also is useless Anyway, IMO in terms of engineering like heat management & PCB design, XBsX is a winner there |

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Oct 9 2020, 12:00 PM) AMD is the biggest winner hereboth chips probably are made in the same factory in Penang gone were the days of competing consoles will be using different chips, it's actually surprising to see both camp using both AMD's CPU & GPU |

good news from other camp, next gen game tested (Dirt 5) on 1440p/120Hz, and it's can sustain 120Hz consistently
let's wait to see how PS5 can handle it 120Hz console gaming on TV is nearer than you think |

It's almost certain that we won't be getting an official launch of PS5 here this year
likewise for the next camp which is launching this week, bad news are trickling in, seems we won't be getting any imported units here this year as well So both sama sama no joy this year |

And seems we won't be getting the new consoles this year
scalpers are gonna having a field day come holiday season Please please refrain from buying and supporting those cut throat scalpers no matter how deep your wallet is and how desperate you are to play PS5 The only way to stop them is to stop buying from them When the buying stops, the scalping can too |

Sony is pissing off more fans by disable the M.2 SSD expansion slot on launch
just because they have yet to start testing the compatibles SSDs Sounds like Sony really dropped the ball in PS5 launch compared to other camp, you can see a lot of online comments the existing PS4 fans are pretty pissed at Sony, and are jumping camp to other side. |

QUOTE(whatnametoput? @ Nov 6 2020, 08:51 AM) the more people jump ship/ cancel order . the faster i can get my ps5 1. not all has fast internet2. most prefer to have at least a few games to switch around to play, what's the point of having instant resume/switch game features if the storage is limited? 3. next gen games are huge, put 2 COD games in it and it already took up more than half of the storage |

other camp teardown reveal they are using M.2 SSD that is replaceable, another win there
So if by chance your storage is corrupted, you can just swap out the SSD with a new one, whereas PS5 is as good as a door stop Since the initial speed test on past gen games between the two shows that XsX standard M.2 SSD is loading faster than PS5 custom soldered on SSD, I wonder if their so called "customised" high speed SSD is optimised for PS5 games only This post has been edited by greyshadow: Nov 10 2020, 08:34 AM |

QUOTE(iGamer @ Nov 10 2020, 09:55 AM) Confirmed XSX internal SSD are replaceable? That would be great news. it's confirmedI really worry about the longevity of PS5 since SSD has fixed lifespan. https://sea.pcmag.com/gaming-systems/40172/...-digital-m2-ssd it's using M.2 2230 format, which unfortunately it's a lot harder to find in the market Also MS is pretty anal about letting end user changing their own storage, it's not as easy like PS swapping out the existing storage with a new one, there are a lot of hoops or hacks you need to perform in order for you to DIY storage replacement on Xbox well at least the chance of it become a deadweight is slimmer compared to PS5 |

I wonder how many of the actually allocated stock for end up in the physical pre-order
lets say a shop claimed they are only allocated 20 units by Sony, the actual allocation could be as many as 40 as the 20 could be taken by their own staffs |
