Heh I think better wait longer, most likely early adopter might encounter a bunch of issues also QC wise maybe. No rush. good luck to early buyers wkn liked this post

QUOTE(MeToo @ Sep 15 2020, 12:06 PM) Guys, I'm keen on a nextgen console.. Xbox ke, PS5 ke, anything... Nintendo Switch is the best for your 6 yr oldMain usage would be for my 6 yr old kid... she likes those cute games (duh), or maybe more active/movement/interactive games.. Would PS5 be a good fit for her? Or should I get another console.. price 2~3k etc for console/accessories shouldnt be a consideration most of the "interactive" cute games are on Switch anyway |

QUOTE(MeToo @ Sep 15 2020, 12:16 PM) Have seen the switch, looks nice and cute. if you really want to jaga her mata, Nintendo Switch is the one to go, at least it has a parental control app where you can control her screen time, there's none on other consolesBut my concern is the processing power and small screen, I prefer something she can play in her play room which comes with a 60" TV. To jaga her mata, i dont even let her play with mobile/tabs.. Would Switch games transition well to a HD 60" screen? but if really wanna jaga mata? avoid let her play any video games until she's much older what processing power you're concern about here? All of switch games can be played on big screen anyway, no issues with my 4K 75" screen also I have all the consoles btw... |

QUOTE(digitalz @ Sep 21 2020, 10:25 AM) Just to check overall opinion here for now - Digital / Physical? Digital or Disk doesn't matter, you'll still need the game to be installed on the SSD in order to playFrom my reading, some of the games like spiderman can start from 55gb onwards and go up all the way to 100+ gb for the Remastered. Even some games now range like 40+ gb onwards. Would 825 now be enough then? The worst part is... the download speed? Should the TS start a vote on which version everyone is getting? Disk version only will give you the advantage of a 4K bluray player and ability to re-sell the game disk other than this 2, there's really no other differences. Why care about what version others are getting? Just get the version that suits your need For me, I won't buy at launch, most likely gonna wait for the next Hardware revision release a year later but I'll be getting the digital version, as I don't buy physical disk anymore, finding that keeping/re-selling the disks are a big hassle, as well as the noise of disk spinning in the drive is annoying digital games are also a lot more cheaper during sales, and for those new games you die die want to play on launch day? you can preload and play at zero hour |

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Sep 21 2020, 09:45 PM) Microsoft acquires Bethesda Softworks parent company ZeniMax Media That's a... HUGE move from MShttps://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/09/21/welc...he-xbox-family/ There goes a lot of games just sticking to Xbox and PC. and that's tonnes of AAA games will be gone from PS5! New Fallout series, new Elder Scrolls series, new Wolfenstein series, new Doom series & etc all those were well received in the west Maybe Sony should make a purchase also to counter it, purchase Square Enix maybe? One will own the west while another own the east |

don't expect 4K 120Hz console game play to be here anytime soon
even top spec PC are struggling to get that judging on the current spec of both PS5 & XBsX? maybe they can output that as max, but don't expect a consistent frame rate of 120 if we can have a consistent 4K 60fps I'm a very happy gamer already IMO, 4K 120 is still a pipe dream |

judging from the current news of next gen game size and the price of the expandable storage from other side (RM1K for 1TB)... it doesn't looks good IMO
- 1TB gonna get filled up very fast - Still no news from Sony on how we can upgrade the SSD storage, 1TB NVME PCIE 4 SSD also cost a bomb nowadays, RM1k+, doubt Sony is generous enough to add in a secondary storage slot |

QUOTE(tohff7 @ Sep 25 2020, 10:42 AM) where? mind sharing the source? AFAIK Sony only said the storage is expandable, but never said how IMO an additional NVME slot for storage upgrade which majority of us won't be using is very unlikely It's effectively killing off their own future consoles revision with higher storage capacity Why would I go buy a new 2Tb version of PS5 if I can just go buy off the shelf 1TB SSD that's compatible and plug it in? or just go buy a much cheaper 512Gb SSD to make it 1.5Tb? MS is doing it differently, at least they'll profit from the sales of their proprietary expansion module, and MS is always very anal about upgrade/changing your own storage. |

I already made up my mind that I won't be getting any of the next gen consoles at launch, or even this year
but from the barrage of positive reviews on XBsX, now I'm very tempted to get the XBsX first PS5? meh... I still won't move an inch to get it anytime soon, I don't understand why Sony is still so secretive or slow in their marketing... |

QUOTE(tohff7 @ Oct 6 2020, 10:26 AM) hmm, what u mean? PS5 own SSD is soldered onto the board. And there will be another NVME slot for you to expand storage. Isn't that the case? Unless I understand wrongly No, it's a customized NVME SSD using the the M.2 slot, you can swap out that original SSD with your own NVME SSD, similar on PS4 with sata HDDsNo, they can't for PS5. They need the blazing fast SSD speed to maintain PS5 game performance. The best scenario is if they allow moving game files between SSD and external HDD (but can't play until it's moved back to SSD) unlike PS4 sata HDDs, where you can reuse anywhere else, it's unlikely our PC will recognize the original PS5 NVME SSD due to it's customized firmware |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Oct 6 2020, 11:21 AM) yup, microsoft earn money different way. they dont really interested in exclusive, they wan to expand market reach. they did try to penetrate japan market but that is a stubborn market lol. which i believe partly due to japanese nationalism culture la. they will support their own product die die lol. MS just need to get & release Idolmaster as Xbox exclusive and they'll have no issues selling it in Japan like X360 era the more game pass subscriber, the more they earn. thats y u see apple also come out with subscription based, now combine subscription, they don scare to bundle this tat in, they only scare they cannot earn u money only lol. just like car now is subscription based, they no scare change new car for u every 2-6yrs, they only scare u don wan to use their car only lol. |

QUOTE(Hattori @ Oct 6 2020, 01:40 PM) Where is the source of this info that Sony's internal SSD is installed on the only expandable storage slot on PS5 ? QUOTE(orangbulu @ Oct 6 2020, 01:53 PM) Can you link the source? As far as i know the original SSD that comes with the PS5 is soldered on, and there is a M.2 Slot for expansion. QUOTE(LegendLee @ Oct 6 2020, 01:55 PM) That’s what I thought too. my bad, I jumped to conclusion based on few articles onlySeveral articles quoted a m.2 slot for expansion. https://www.vg247.com/2020/03/18/ps5-expand...age-usb-m2-ssd/ Based on how they word it, it should be an additional slot. Not the same slot. after watching thru original Mark's 1 hour presentation again, it seems the 825Gb is soldered on, with an M.2 slot for expansion apologies |

but using an expandable M.2 slot will create another issue, most M.2 SSD today aren't as fast as the built in one
IMO if you installed an uncertified one, it might still work, but you won't be able to get the performance similar to the internal SSD, so there could be another round of file juggling between the 2 storage for best performance? |

Wonder what's wrong with Sony this time round, it's less than one & half month before official launch, yet we still have very minimal info on the console itself
How is the UI gonna look like? Where's the teardown? What's the performance of current gen games on it like? etc... While the other camp is already overloaded with those info early on. |
