Well, you have to install the game with the Physical PS5 edition anyway, though you can install via local media instead of internet.

Ps5 also being incredibly quiet is a very good thing. Might get it once the opportunity to buy it at RRP or lower comes.

The disc works as an authentical access. You still need to install the game into the storage, no matter it's disc version or digital version. Surprisingly, a lot of people including some playstation owners don't aware about this.

I read about that. I was hoping it would only take up roughly around 100GB like the PS4. On top of that PS5 game file install sizes could be bigger as well. 1TB should be at least the bare minimum.

Doubt the OS is taking up that much space, it's space provisioning so the SSD can remain at its optimum speed for longer periods of time. SSD's performance can drop if you fill the NANDs up to the brim and the controller no longer has anymore spare flash space to rewrite data.

The promise is that they're pushing devs to allow only certain parts of their game to be installed or uninstalled as required by the users. Works for games with SP and MP modes I guess, but ultra huge SP games? Uh yeah... that's another problem of its own.

1TB could have been the bare minimum, if you guys are okay with pay $600 for a console.

You have to understand that XSX is not using the same SSD as the PS5. Sony's own SSD is proprietary, especially its controller. MS is mostly off the shelf, just with a custom PCB form factor. It's also why MS partnered with Seagate so that they can monopolize all external storage for the XSX.

Yeah you can replace the PS5's SSD with a standard PCIE4.0 nvme drive, but you can't use the PS5's SSD anywhere else even if it could fit on your motherboard's m.2 slot.

wow that is sad.. 500+gb, i foresee need to keep delete and install. unless can plug 1 usb hard drive then the game can save to external then transfer in when wan to play. if this can be managed properly. if not 500gb is really nightmate. 1tb at ps4 cant even install 10 games now.

If you have high speed internet I don't think its a big issue.
I can finish downloading a game in less than 1 hour with 500Mbps. Just keep the few games that you play the most at a time.

Like yesterday I wanted to play MHW Iceborne, so I started the download and went to take a bath. When I came back it's ready to play.
Around 20-25 min.

not everyone got the luxury for 500mbps lol. i hope they can like offload to external, then load back to internal later. that would be a good way to manage. if u wan swap pcie4.0 drive, 1tb now also almost 800-1k.
