I buy new phone and factory reset old wechat phone.

Now wechat ask me verify my identity if not dun let me use. Only 2 options.
1) QR Code from old phone who have wechat
2) Bank card detail (which i never tie)

Contact wechat no reply.

So what now????? Where is Wechat Malaysia HQ???
I want go there rage.

If no i will buy ticket to china rage.

on ur old sampah phone, connect to wifi, open Wechat app, turn on qr code and scan the code with your new bling bling phone. Got so hard meh?

If your WeChat account was previously linked to a mobile phone number, email address, or QQ ID, we advise you to follow the instructions below in order to log in to WeChat:

1. Log in via Mobile number + SMS code
Tap 「More」on the WeChat login screen-> select「Switch Account」->「Phone」->「Log in via SMS」-> follow the instructions to receive an SMS verification code sent to the linked mobile number-> tap「Submit」, and you will receive a SMS verification code from WeChat. Enter the code to log in to WeChat.

If you've forgetten your password, after logging in to WeChat via mobile number + SMS code, reset your password by following the instructions given after logging in. Subsequently, you will be able to log in to WeChat more quickly via mobile number + WeChat password.

2. Log in via linked email address + retrieved password
If you previously linked an email address to your account, you can reset your password and login to your account again by going to the login page, tapping 「More」->「Switch Account」->「WeChat ID/Email/QQ ID」->「Forgot Password?」->「Email Linked」-> following the instructions to enter linked email address-> and tapping「Next」. You will receive an email from WeChat. Follow the instructions in the email to reset your password.

After resetting your password, tap 「More」->「Switch Account」->「WeChat ID/Email/QQ ID」-> enter your email address and new WeChat password -> and tap「Log in」to log in to WeChat.

3. Log in via QQ ID + QQ password
On the login page, tap「More」->「Switch Account」->「WeChat ID/Email/QQ ID」-> follow the instructions to enter linked QQ ID and QQ password-> and tap「Log in」to log in to WeChat.

Lasttime my phone hilang in germany
So when i buy new phone, i cannot login to my existing wechat account because my malaysia simcard also hilang mah, they will send confirmation code to my msia number

So they have 1 option is they ask me to pick 3 friends that i have in my wechat contact, send them some sort of code on their wechat, then i enter those codes in my wechat and boom i can login already!

Interesting method of verification, you give wechat your friends phone numbers to send those codes?

they should have a fail safe lah

if cannot access old phone then send verification code to email instead

or physical text message since the sim will be in the new phone.


stupid developer never think from UX perspective

if your phone get stolen how you are login with new phone when you no longer have access to the old phone?

You got new phone, why don't make sure everything is intact in new phone only factory reset old phone?

No, those friends are memang in my wechat contact already.
When i tried to login my own account, they show a few friends from my contact, so i pick 3, then wechat will give them the code.
So they give me the codes via whatsapp.. and i enter in my wechat, and viola i can login already.

Of course i need to whatsapp those 3 friends before hand that wechat is going to give them code so they aware mah.

I tried backup using a pc but unsuccessfully to backup history and photo/video together.How does China people backup their history ? no cloud service ?
What if a phone lost really all gone.I wonder how all China people use wechat able to keep their files ?
