I would recommend you to just take back to RM500. Don't play with car dealer. Later no return deposit you will cry. They are known for their unreliability  sweat.gif

this, at least he returned ur depo, if he didnt return ur depo then yes u cn viral this n gain socmed sympathy

but nw even if u managed to viral it, most ppl will just tell u u ledi get bck the depo why wan do so much nonsense

Because in his world view, there is no such thing as u-turn without consequences. In this case, the boss u-turn on sale of car, even though the boss wants to refund full amount of booking fee, it’s not enough for TS because of all the emotional trauma caused. So the boss must pay compensation on top of refund booking fee

It’ll be fun to see it go to tribunal biggrin.gif who knows, he might actually get something out of this!

He is so unethical and lied to me. Is that nonsense? Omg. I know i never sign official contract with him but his ethics is worse.

Imagine you bought online ticket to paris tml. But the airline told you last mins that your ticket is rejected due to system error. In fact they sold your business class ticket to another business tycoon. And you have important meeting at paris.

So you will very happy with the airline even if they refunded you?

Bad example, because this happens more time than you can imagine when it comes to airline and hotel

QUOTE(JMoo1 @ Apr 14 2019, 09:14 PM)
I have booked a car with a car dealer this afternoon. I have paid RM500 deposit.
Just now he called and told me that the current car owner refused to sell the car.
He said he will pay back Rm500 to me. And i said i will not accept the offer.
Anyone here can tell me what action can i do? Can i demand him to compensate back double of the deposit amount to me? Thank you.

Go for it man....bring it up to tribunal...many in asia and MY, kinda live with the..."aiya to much hassle- tidakapa" attitude. Its our consumer right, especially when you have given the 500 bucks as a booking deposit, a contract is sealed then, its unethical and breach in code of conduct.

all the best!

You have the opportunity of breaking even with a car dealer, just take it. You can always find another car to purchase.

Err. Luckily got witness, whatsapp and payment as concrete evidence. My claim is below 25k can go under tribunal court. RM5 filing only. Never try before. Especially if i can prove that the dealer boss has lied me.

When the car owner testified in the court that he never say he dont want to sell the car, see how the dealer is going to defend. I already recorded all the conversation.

If got overbooked, they have to offered me another room to stay with the same facilities and area. But in this case the dealer do not replace the same quality of car for me.

What is the outcome you are seeking then? The rights to buy the car? Additional RM500 compensation?

The most pivotal point here is, the boss never took full payment, only booking fee. And he wants to refund the booking fee.

Also, do you know who is the seller? Will the seller take your side? What if it turns out that seller really changed mind?

Maybe the rights to buy the car or offer another car with the same specs and condition.

Hello, he cheated and lied me now. I dont have the rights to claim the extra cost incurred due to his lies? I have to spend extra cost to buy back the same specs and same condition of the car.

We will know once the seller testify in the court.

Did you tell the boss that is what you want? If you didn’t, tribunal seems like a really roundabout way to get what you want, and you might not even get it biggrin.gif

Honestly though, the cynic in me wants to make fun of you, but I hope you do take it up to tribunal and share the experience with us, and I hope you get something out of it. Then perhaps we’ll be less inclined to just “settle” and assert our “rights”.
