QUOTE(fruitie @ May 23 2019, 02:23 PM) The common external antenna for Huawei 4G routers is this: https://shopee.com.my/product/48807093/787791738?smtt=0.0.9 fruitie Can advise which port to choose. The sma port or ts9 port for B618s-65d modem? ThanksMake sure you buy the red box, there's a similar type but packed in blue box which has a lower spec. QUOTE(ckimsem @ Jun 26 2019, 08:24 PM) If I were u, I would NOT waste my money for that kind of antenna. ckimsem Thanks for the feedback. I believe in my case the antenna will help as found out that my Huawei modem when put 'outside', the speed usually increase by quite a fair bit. As since, am unable to put the modem there, the antenna will have to do.I had one b4 for Huawei e5186, it’s just the same as NO antenna. This post has been edited by abcn1n: Jun 26 2019, 11:22 PM |

Where can I download hmanager for huawei?
Noticed on 1st page of this thread, fadzly posted this :9) Locking band tools: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « APK for android Link IOS (arabic version, sorry no English version available yet) Link Huawei B618 Toolbox Download here However, when tried to use fadzly's link, my handphone warned me not to do so as dangerous. Can anyone help on where to get the hmanager or should I just overwrite my handphone's advise and download the link on 1st page of this thread? QUOTE(ckimsem @ Jun 27 2019, 08:18 AM) Sorry, what I meant was getting another kind of antenna, but not this one cause it’s an indoor antenna. ckimsem Do you know which outdoor antenna for B618 then? ThanksIf you’re using B618, its built-in reception could be much better without this antenna. Since it’s selling for RM40, you had better top up a bit and choose outdoor antenna. |

QUOTE(fadzly @ Jul 1 2019, 12:25 PM) QUOTE(moshpit21 @ Jul 1 2019, 12:46 PM) i'm not so surprised, because if i put myself into their shoes, the only time when they really have the opportunity to read this info is when they are on researching stage before they buy their modem OR when they encounter any issue Have benefited from this thread. I actually bought a modem earlier before knowing about B618 but because later on on learning of the benefits of B618, bought B618 and have no regrets. Am sure there are others like me and we thank you all who have helped contributed to this and other threadother than that if they have done their research and convinced to buy the modem and purchased and using it, and then no issue and just peacefully using it everyday for months or year, i don't see any reason why they would hang out at let say that famous FB group or this thread it's just a misfortune |

QUOTE(ckimsem @ Jul 6 2019, 09:11 PM) I received the antenna and tested it. ckimsem Thank you very much for the useful information. Maybe you can try locking in band to improve performance if you haven't done so.Huawei B618 built-in antenna is more better than the external, wasting money. While testing on Tenda 4G680, this outdoor antenna could improve the signal from 3bars to full bars, but speed may be more or less the same. Conclusion is don’t waste money buying any antenna if you’re using Huawei B618. |

Some good news. Lazada has offer on Huawei B618-65d modem. Current price $680. Sales on 12 July is $649. Store is MaxSpeed.
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/huawei-b...lZ2tcH&search=1 [Disclaimer: Do not know seller nor have any affiliation with him. So buy at your own risk] So for those that are scared TM might lock your Huawei modem or those intending to buy the modem, here's your chance to grab it. |

QUOTE(saitong09 @ Jul 10 2019, 08:40 PM) saitong09 Disabling the auto update doesn't work as Huawei can force update. Anyway, I already have the modem. Just putting it out there for those who are thinking of having it. But somebody did mention that the item being sold 'could be from TM'. So whoever who is thinking of buying that, buy at your own risk |

QUOTE(myqd @ Jul 15 2019, 11:01 AM) ya,a bit confuse,TM point told me there is no 4G coverage for Sarawak yet, therefore i cannot subcride "4G LTE Wireless Broadband".Also, they mentioned another alternative is "Unifi Mobile",but need to insert the sim card into mobile phone, and with limited tethering quota ..... ? I can't really remember already but it is something like that--TM staff ever mentioned unifi mobile uses 3G and 4G but the wireless broadband is 4G+ That's why even if your unifi mobile has signal, it doesn't mean your wireless broadband has the signal.so,Unifi Mobile using 3G signal ? or 4G LTE Wireless Broadband not using 4G but 4G LTE ? Somebody, pls correct me if I'm wrong |

QUOTE(ckimsem @ Jul 19 2019, 07:40 PM) If ONLY Streamyx users can subscribe, TM is making people more and more annoyed. Maybe its people who subscribed for Streamyx, they can now change to Unifi air? But don't make sense either right as Unifi air cheaper than Streamyx.Paying RM110 (Streamyx) + RM79 (unifi Air with unknown speed), wonder who gonna take these? Noob question. On the bottom right of my laptop screen, I can see my internet as Huawei-B618-Axxx.
1) If I were to change the name to something else eg: "newbie", will this affect the modem's ability to still auto decide which band and frequency to choose from. Reason I ask is because on 192.168.8.1 (under wlan basic setting), when I changed the name, only the 1st SSID box shows the new name. The rest still shows as Huawei-B618-Axxx. 2) Also, is Huawei-B618-Axxx (the last 3 numbers the same for all Huawei-B618-65d modem)? 3) Currently my Huawei modem's password is the same as what's printed on the bottom of my Huawei modem. Is it advisable to change or just leave it as it is |

QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ Oct 7 2019, 07:10 PM) Xaser_3You mean even when we do not disable auto-update for 65d unlocked, still cannot upgrade to v81? If so, then 65d unlocked should be safe right, since its only v81 that can cause Unifi to lock the modem? [FYI, I got my 65d from Unifi (just before Unifi introduced its unifi air). Tried to use unifi with their 65d but the signal was so crappy that I had to cancel unifi but got to keep the modem as already paid for the modem upfront]I had disabled my auto update for quite some time already but just decided to disabled all 3 updates (including critical update) after reading the posts here. |

QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ Oct 9 2019, 12:05 AM) That is correct Bro. I also just found out until this morning when enlightened by a member in the thread. No point leaving all the 3 updates checked if there is going to be a chance of the modem getting locked when they push out the update. Thanks immobile liked this post
