Its consistent display of raw power won on a new convert in me.
Though I'm still sour, hesitant, and regretting the spur-of-moment catching it by spending almost RM1k.
Buyer's remorse or techie's ecstasy. Still hopping between the 2 sides.

I got slightly cheaper too from Europe. QUOTE(asellus @ Jan 13 2020, 01:59 PM) QUOTE(Agsx @ Jan 13 2020, 02:12 PM) if u know the market price B618 22d brand new modded +unlocked is around RM599-650 that why we called that guy who spent "RM1k" got ripped off lol. The router u posted, no info of the speed/signal 4*4MIMO/brand/warranty/reliable compare to Huawei B618 that is proven by most people it's top of fastest router with all the speed test. and ur router still dare to ask for RM679 QUOTE(asellus @ Jan 13 2020, 03:10 PM) Where on Malaysia you can get a brand new B618-22d unlocked at below RM650? A quick look at Lazada and Shopee shows that you have to pay RM7xx to get a modded one with v81 firmware that has no warranty. To get a brand new one unmolested is even more impossible at that price. It's a B618-65d. The RM1k tag was indeed hard to swallow, and I am sour for that price PLUS force-bundled with dodgy-looking external antenna (claimed to be around "RM200 alone", improved the download about +10Mb/s), which I no longer have need attach after testing. I placed the B618 in-place of previous B315 from Maxis. I am now getting consistent 120Mb/s download, and getting back previously familiar 30+Mb/s upload. The modem is placed at ½ meter below ceiling, above everything else at the exact middle of my concrete-walled apartment. I have no need to expose it to indirect heat through since I am now satisfied with speed AND now-VoLTE-enabled "landline". Though I expect the speed will improve based on tested such relocation with B315 before. The consolation is, i am now future-proofed for expected landed house; location which I had previously tested DiGi at, and confirmed no TM HSBB will ever want to even visit. ![]() |

Putting a note here.
I cabled CAT6e end-to-end. TM BTU <-> TP-link TL-SG108E <-> Huawei B618 <-> TP-Link Deco M9 Plus Confirmed via switch status's - gigabit LAN1 - gigabit LAN2/WAN Managed to dial Unifi PPPoE. Speedtest against from nearest TM Seberang Jaya only managed to clock 171Mbps at best. tested through M9 Plus built-in client and through browser. |
