Observing 5G network very closely, for the time being it's more suited towards backhaul than providing consumer access.

Just look at Terragraph in Penang, they are using it more to reach high rise buildings as backhaul connection then share the connection throughout the building using existing copper wired technologies such as Gigawire.

In USA, Webpass also provides similar solution to high rise apartments, but the end connection is using regular ethernet switches at every floor connecting to the receiver at the rooftop to distribute internet access.

My point is 5G deployments will be very costly to deploy. Vendors are heavily pushing this technology because it involves lucrative tenders which will amount to billions everywhere in the world. They're lobbying governments to buy into this idea because they would gain access into public funds from our taxes to waste on their utopia idea.

A highly connected world is a prison-like world. That day is not far away just like the idea of smartphones that we have today.

This entire 5G idea is a highly lucrative idea to grab public funds from countries. Indeed a very corrupted corporations behind it.

It's better we proceed with the fiberization plan because fibre technology is getting cheaper and saturated by the day. We have plenty of silica from the ground to make glass wires than to invest heavily in initial unproven wireless technology with billions.

We can do more with a mature and proven technology.

But why tmnet still refuse to implement fiber and even introduce 4G wireless ?
Moreover , charging stmyx price way higher than fiber ?

Can't say streamyx is more expensive now, it's reduced to what RM69? But the price still doesn't justify the lack of fiber penetration within the nation.

Always the same reason(s).
Infrastructure isn't cost effective to be implemented or it takes too long "build".

I guess they went with the easiest way out.
Utilizing the current 4G network to temporarily "patch" the streamyx issue.
Let's just see what they announce for today's #khabarbaik event.

Fiber need a lot of money. Paperwork, digging road, cable then one taman not many will subscribe fiber.
TM buying P1 network to use as wireless ISP. P1 own 30MHz of 2300MHz and 20MHz of 2600MHz spectrum.
Step 1 shutdown dying P1 wimax to free up 2300Mhz spectrum.. Step 2 Unifi Air @ wireless Unifi. Step 3 profit

sorry if this question is asked before in the last version but seems like no one talk about it in this V2 thread.

In a good coverage area, are you able to use the modem+mobile network to play FPS games like Battlefield, Apex Legend, etc.?

In 2 months time, I will be moving to a new housing area which Unifi (land line) still not available yet. So thought of applying for Celcom Home Wifi at the time being while waiting for Unifi. Main usage is for fps gaming (for 2 computers) and video streaming. Not so much on torrent or download.

Thank you.

No point, can't even subscribe if you're not an existing Streamyx user.

My B618s-22d from Celcom was working with Yoodo previously.

Last month, the unit stopped working. WebUI showed 'Illegal SIM'.

I read somewhere that Celcom pushed some update to the router some time back and even Yoodo SIM no longer supported.

How to unlock it?

Ok problem settled.
Hard reset 3 times then only it worked and the modem IP changed itself to 192.168.9.1 instead of the default 192.168.8.1

My b618 5Ghz wifi keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting for no reason. Updated to latest software and no mod nothing.
Anyone facing the same problem as me?

2Ghz seems to work just fine.
