Synopsis:
High school student Hodaka leaves his home on an isolated island and moves to Tokyo, but he immediately becomes broke. He lives his days in isolation, but finally finds a job as a writer for a shady occult magazine. After he starts his job, the weather has been rainy day after day. In a corner of the crowded and busy city, Hodaka meets a young woman named Hina. Due to certain circumstances, Hina and her younger brother live together, but have a cheerful and sturdy life. Hina also has a certain power: the power to stop the rain and clear the sky.

On side note, I hope the subtitle doesn't take 1/4 of the screen like in the trailer. And...it happens before in Kimi no Nawa as well.

But the good thing is they are still willing to do translation for the music part as well

‘Weathering With You’ Hit Anime Selected as Japan’s Oscars Contender

“Weathering with You,” the hit animation by Makoto Shinkai, has been selected as Japan’s contender for a the International Feature Film Awards at the Oscars, the Japan Motion Picture Producers Association(Eiren) announced on Monday.

As of Wednesday last week, “Weathering” had grossed more than $94 million in Japanese theaters.

The film is the first animated feature put forward by Japan since Hayao Miyazaki’s “Princess Mononoke” in 1998. “Weathering with You” was chosen from a short list of 13 films by a committee of seven film directors, scriptwriters and critics.

On what date did you plan to watch it? I'm waiting TGV to do Fan Event like they did to Kimi No Nawa show last time.
The tix price a bit pricey but you get all the goodies ( Notebook, book mark, Big Posters & Goodies bag).

I've attend the Fan Event yesterday. And this is my non spoiler review:

- Story telling : 5 star
- Cry meter : 4/5, (yes..please bring napkin/tissue brand Premier.)
- real life tokyo location n scenary. If u pause u can make wallpaper for ur pc or phone
- Bomoh hujan business is a thing
- even bomoh hujan do part time job.
- kakak bomoh hujan, adik underage playboy
- Real star is the Cat named Ame (rain in jpanese)
- ada action pew2 ka? Yes.
- the song from Radwimps will stuck in ur head untill u go to spotify and bring the playlist to the top

Overall it is great experience for me brought to you by Makoto Shinkai. The story has a good ending but has very sad 'consequences' 😭😭. Thanks Encore Films Malaysia & TGV Cinemas for bringing this anime to Malaysia!

Any difference of Standard screen and Deluxe screen ? Was thinking to travel to i-city but not sure how it is.

The difference is the seating. Deluxe more comfy than standard and quite big hall too.
And most of the time Deluxe TGV at i-city will be cheaper than the rest of cinemas (Average price with no discount partners applied ie MovieClub/Maybank/TnGO E-wallet would be Rm16 or more. While others Average Rm 20 or more)

What date u planning to watch? I'm planning to watch on my 2nd screening at I-City.
