Is your Z40 the GPS version? If yes, did you set the +8 timezone? Cause once when the GPS connects it will sync date and time according to the timezone set in the Z40.
Z40 do not have parking surveillance right?
I read somewhere this can be enable by hardwiring. What is the meaning of this?
Last time 70mai could use the built-in battery to power their parking mode to record about 10 impacts BUT now with the latest models, you will need to use the hardwire kit to use the parking mode.
No more can use the built-in battery d.
Thanks for the feedback.
I am looking for super capa dashcam, is there any other recommendations besides ddpai z40?
I accidentally lose my electrostatic sticker, so i got no choice but to directly stick it to my windshield without it. Any potential problem if like this?

No problem. Then again, I believe you can buy the stickers online too.
Thanks, relieved to hear that. Just another question, will it cause additional problem when i am trying to pluck it out? Eg, maybe glue is too strong and spoil my tinted film?
I have removed the mount from my windscreen which I did not use the extra layer.
Can tear the tape so it wont pull/damage your tint...BUT the problem is removing the leftover gunk on tint COULD easily cause damage to the tint. Ask me how I know, but its so tiny, less than 0.20 size, i just ignore & the cam is mounted there anyway. No need so anal about it.
My DDPAI z40 bracket holder is broken. Most likely due to heat over the years (my car is park outdoor 24/7) and bumping due to uneven road I guess. So my unit can’t be attached to the holder anymore.
Anyone faced this issue before? How to fix it? Or what tape can be used? There is an option of buying the holder only but I try to avoid this if possible, as it might spoil my tinted when pulling out the old unit.
There is a suction mount for z40, search in shopee.
This will involves the removal of the current mount. Any other methods to remain with current mount and stick the dashcam on it? Preferably this way so I don’t need to risk spoiling my tint
I've been using DC for > 10 years and hence have transferred many cameras to newly purchased cars.
If it's held by double sided tape, you can "saw" through it with a thread or fine string. The remaining tape on windscreen can be scraped away using finger nail.
Yes, it's held by double side tape. You mean you use a fine thread and sip it between the tape and the tint to saw it away?
Yup, thread or string will cut away the tape. Dental floss works too Edit: don't forcefully pull out the mount. Saw until it is very loose (can easily peel off) or fully separated. Else you will damage the tint. Don't ask me how I know lol.
