Tested with 70mai A800 Dash Cam installed in front and 70mai Pro Plus+ A500s at the back to cover both views with best video image possible.

QUOTE(cskean @ Mar 30 2021, 01:15 AM) Hi guys, just bought a 70mai Dashcam Pro Plus+ A500s and installed it on my windscreen with Vkool tinted. Oh dam the other tint that causes smart tag & GPS out is 3M Crystalline I used to have that top part black out tint is normal 3M tint while the rest was 3M Crystalline. 3M installers were smart to do that else no way can get smart tag to work too.It seems like the tint has cause the dashcam having difficulty for GPS signal. Which is affecting the dashcam unable to show the speed & latitude, ADAS... Beside cutting a small hole at the tint, will there be any other solution to allow the dashcam to get the GPS signal? |

QUOTE(cskean @ Mar 31 2021, 02:07 AM) If I'm not mistaken, mine is Vkool Elite, cause me rm1k+ just for the front tint. Which is why I'm reluctunt to cut it😅 Test out of car 1st just to double check if the unit's GPS is functioning & let it grab satellites if it didn't get before.Do u think if I take out the dashcam before I start my car, and get the dashcam to connect to gps outside my car 1st, then when the gps is locked, put it back into my car & start my journey... Will this method works🤔 If smart tag works GPS should also means no metallic particles in tint. Maybe some other causes need to investigate. Tried on another car with different tint? |

QUOTE(RokXIII @ Apr 18 2021, 11:23 PM) did anyone know if the 70mai A800s (front + rear camera bundle), can the rear camera be used as a reverse camera? meaning get it connected to the HU, when reverse gear engaged it will activate the camera? Nope the connector goes directly into front unit you may switch cam to rear view & leave it there for constant rear view only issue is every time the car starts up with auto switch back to front cam so need manually switch to rear cam again. I'm doing this now as my reverse cam died yet to go repair. RokXIII liked this post

QUOTE(kkm @ Apr 22 2021, 09:05 PM) Hi, anyone done anything about the 70mai A800s heat issue? It gets really hot in use, but hasn't caused any problems yet, but it's worrying... If you are recording at 4K yes it gets pretty hot due to 4K and if you feel uncomfortable with that tune it down to 1600 instead.I've been running the unit for longer than anyone else in MY under hot sun still no overheating even though it feels hot. The body is large enough and have vents to dissipate the heat hence why it feels hot. |
