Using USB car charger also void warranty on the ciggie port laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Mine spoilt twice and Honda SC says my Aukey 4 ports QC USB car charger's fault so cannot claim warranty. But now changed to the 3rd ciggie port, until now no problems.

Lucky me, I've been using USB charger for my dashcam for my Accord, never die on me till now. I had the autolock OBD tho', but it took it off whenever I sent my car for service and warranty claim. There was one posting in FB group, saying that his might be voided because SC found that he tapped the fusebox. Didn't follow up on his case, so no idea the warranty for the whole car voided because of that.

From your knowledge of this, it's just the ciggie port that is excluded from warranty and not the whole car right? I've sent my Honda in for servicing at SC with USB car charger attached to ciggie port before hmm.gif

This depends on SC. Some SC very kwailan 1.

Read on Civic group, an owner change speakers and LED bulbs, got a fuse burnt bright back to SC and they reported to HM and his whole Civic warranty bye bye d. Less than 1 years old car.

Well, can't blame them also. Cause the SC people are doing their work. It is already written on the manual any changes to the car will void warranty. Even changing rim.

Just because most SC close one eye to this doesn't means they are right. By right they should advice the customer on this and tell them it will void warranty. If not change back then bye bye warranty.

That is why in developed countries, they have authorized parts installer and repair centers. You cannot just simply send to any Tom, Dick & Harry workshop to fix or mod your under warranty car.

I see...so far my usual SC didn't highlight anything after each servicing session. I hope that they don't take note of the record secretly though. Hopefully all is good for my warranty.

Anyone knows where can I buy another fuse tap?
I bought an A129 with hardwire kit, but the seller only give one fuse tap, so only can use the fuse tap for either yellow or red wire only.
I've find in lazada, not sure those are safe to use or not

Marbella is a Singaporean branding company that take OEM from China. Now they got OEM from Korea.

Quality unknown. But you can try and let us know.

Wao, learn a new place for electronic goods.
Thank you

Another question, I see these fuse tap got 15v,12v etc. Is it important?
Fuse taps that support 12v and above is the one I'm looking for, right?

Also, at the hardwire kit has a voltage cut off toggle. I'll put it at 12V. Is it appropriate?

Thanks for your reply, I Googled and just want to confirm with you.

Generally for everything in a normal car, voltage should be in the range of 12v. Just like all the voltage in a house is 230v.

BTW, get a piggy back fuse tap. This will ensure the ori fuse is not disturbed. Will not void if car still under warranty.

Viofo a119 v2 - Best budget now. New V3 is great but less than rm500.
YI Nightscape Dash Camera - not sure yet but heard was a remake of the failed older Yi Nightscape that was using battery
ddpai mini 3 pro - Mini3 was great. New Mini3 Pro not sure.

Can add a bit to get Blueskysea mini 0906. Good quality dashcam also for it's price. It is front/rear dash.
