Random thoughts:

Did u stick directly to the glass, or is there a layer of tinting present? If it's the latter case, maybe the tinting material is too slippery.

Did u clean the glass with a glass cleaning liquid (eg Windex)? If so, such glass cleaners do tend to leave behind a film which will hinder proper adhesion of your stickers. It's best to use isopropyl alcohol.
*
Stick direct to glass.

Tried with not clean glass and cleaning with phone glass cleaner also cannot. Only haven't tried isopropyl alcohol as it is not easy to find it in DIY shops..

Hi, you can get those from pharmacy called alcohol swap (70% alcohol). Those nurse used to sanitize your skin before injection. You can also use it as hand sanitizer or phone sanitizer during this covid.

I bought it as phone sanitizer during covid.

If you don't need the parking mode then install to the ciggie port.

If need parking mode, you'll need to buy the HK3 hardwire kit. Make sure to use fuse taps and not cut into the wires.
*
If you don't need parking mode, you can still tap into the fuses. Tap fuse that only have power when car start. So you free up the ciggie port and looks nicer without wires hanging outside.

Just got a Marbella KR6S. Although I like the setup, but Im quite disappointed with the video quality even during daytime. Especially bad even though light rain.

The recording in TAT format not so friendly.
*
Any sample of the video quality for us to see?

Sample KR6S

Cant even capture number plates of cars just directly beside and in front.
*
That video is only 720p. Is the original also this bad? If yes then definitely on par with those cheap dashcams.

U all help me check. Is it ok?
170 degree fov is quite wide right?

https://youtu.be/lxH5SN6rfAo
*
Not much in terms of feature compared to ddpai/70mai or other higher tier brands but good enough for basic usage.

The price is half of blueskysea 0906 and Viofo. 1/3 or 1/4 of other known brands.

Also using novatek chip and sony imx sensor?? Well.. could be fake but from the tests video quality looks okay. Get the 2k version cause the rear is 1080p. Standard one 480p is not good enough.

Fake Novatek and Sony IMX? shocking.gif  shocking.gif  shocking.gif
*
Well, they can say it's Sony IMX, but how do you check? How many users are going to open up the camera and look at the lens? As a dashcam reviewer do you even check that?

Got different types of reviewers. Some more focus on the technical like hardware, heat, etc. Some like me focus on the features, videos, etc.

I saw before the reviewer checks the processor, opens up to check, and assembles back after that. But never see them check the CMOS before though.

Anyway, I don't think they can provide FCC CE test report to us also.

Maybe you want to do a video on it for your youtube channel?
*
My point is, even a dashcam reviewer doesn't open up and check the claims of parts being used. That's why unscrupulous manufacturers can get away with lying about the specs. End of the day, what you pay is what you get. Which is why we need to be skeptical of products that appears too good to be true. Having said that, I do have good experience with some of the more affordable brands like blueskysea (b1w) and anytek (HK brand).

Slightly misleading but the built in IPS eliminate the needs of parking kit. Curious how they detects it. And also h265 coding, it's a huge improvement!
*
The IPS will manage the voltage cut off but it still need to have power feed when car is parked, right? Else where is it getting the power?

at 1st using cardboard, work 100% but kinda distraction since cardbord too big

2nd using dashboard cover black mat, able to remove reflection 50-70%

3rd CPL filter, cant tell the different, maybe bought the wrong product, wont recommend this
user posted image

currently using 2nd & 3rd together
*
I am using this CPL also. Works better as I see less refleciton. However, will see rainbow windscreen for cars that install certain tint. Not a big issue as having less "glare" helps for clearer videos.

That black mat is good idea but it looks ugly. Even for a guy who prefer practicality over style. Sorry, just my opinion.

Hi all, will the electrostatic sticker for dash-cams interfere or even damage the windscreen sensors (rain and light sensor) of the car?
*
AFAIK, it will not.

Cause rain sensor uses IR that scans the outside of the windscreen. And light sensor detect light luminance which should not be affected by transparent sticker unless you stick on the sensor itself.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Does anyone have any idea how to connect my phone to my DDPAI mola n3?
The wifi always says connected without internet, and the app doesn't seem to be able to detect my dashcam... I'm using a Samsung phone
*
Try disabling your mobile data. Only connect wifi to the device. Connected without internet is correct.

I read some people comment that this could potentially damage the ECU as OBD2 is directly linked to the ECU system. It is a bit risky true but can also be reliable if product is properly made. Just take note those thinking of using. Do provide feedback if you are using OBD2 power method.

The capacitor has enough charge to save the last video files and the settings.

I think there is some issues with the Z40 if read from the other dashcam groups.
Cause your Mi dashcam has a built-in lithium-ion battery with at least 150mAh.

Wait till after a year or so then you'll see it cannot hold a charge any more laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Wait..Z40 is supercapacitor? I thought it's battery?

Yeah it is using supercapacitor. That's the main reason I bought it because my car is usually parked outside in the hot sun.

I think it's also more reliable than those with lithium battery.

Just unfortunate this issue happened, but it's not a major issue and I can live with it
*
Ok ok...thanks. I bought DDpai Mola N3 yesterday. Manage to cancel the order (seller accept) and ordered Z40 now. I actually prefer Z40 as it has a screen. And yes, super capacitor is a must for me. I have had few battery operated dashcams bloated after 1 year plus.

Only U1000 has 4K front and 2K rear. No such dashcam with 4K front and rear.

You'll need at least a 4K screen to watch in true 4K quality. Other resolution screens can watch also but you won't be able to see in full 4K glory.

Anyway, 2K resolution is good enough for dashcam recordings. Minimum 1080p.
*
I agree. 4k is overkill. However, if you have the $$$ then go ahead, it's always better to have higher resolution.

Even if you view the 4k video on a 2k display, it will still be better quality than 2k video. Then again, the video quality to see things like number plates is not only dictated by video resolution alone. The quality of the lens and sensor also play a very important role in it.

That means I would rather go for good quality carl zeiss lens and sony imx sensor with 1k video compared to another camera that can take 4k video but uses some unknown lens and sensor.

Recently did a survey for dashcam at a local store. Shopkeeper recommended Gnet N2 dashcam but I noticed the price is close to 2x of 70mai A800s and on top of that it's only 1080p front and back. I tried skimming this thread for previous Gnet enteries and most are saying it's a Chinese OEM model distributed by a Korean company.

The price he's offering with installation is RM1200(dashcam set is rm1099) with 1 year warranty.
I'm thinking of just picking up the A800s front/rear combo with hardwire kit from Shopee and telling him to install(rm180 for installation).
*
70mai is also China made. However, I would go for 70mai instead of gnet. Save half with better specs and quality is known to be good enough.
