Yes visual of speed & gps can be disabled from recording but log files available in sdcard if needed.

After due consideration, decided to pull the plug and go for x10. WiFi coverage is not too bad. Car at car porch, reception is available throughout the house ground floor however once go up 1st floor, reception gone liao lol. Will review again after a year or 2.

Anyone know what is the different between 70mai A800, A800s, A500 & A500s ? Dashcam Pro and Dashcam Pro+ ?

A800 & A800S is the same 4K dashcam but using a different processor. A800S is to replace A800 as 70mai not longer using Huawei HiSilicon chip.

Pro is an older dashcam model.

The Pro successor is A500 (Pro+). Single cam. No built-in GPS. 1944p.

The latest is the A500S (Pro Plus+) is a dual dashcam and has built-in GPS. 1944p front and 1080p rear.

Just got Viofo A119v3. So far so good.
Just a bit confused with the parking mode.
I set Auto detection Event and set motion to be medium sensitity while G sensor to highest. So this is the so call buffered mode right?
My question is from the setting i done, does it record if there is impact or motion? Let say i only wan to record upon impact, then i should set motion to lowest sensitivity?

put lowest & shake ur car see got activate.
increase lvl if unable

G sensor I usually put highest so that the slightest bang will start recording which is good. Motion I usually put low as I park in my condo car park with lots of movement.

Usually it's both will detect both.

Buffered parking mode is record 10s before and 10s after motion or impact detected.

There seems to be no Buffered setting or is it auto?

not hardwire it, just to install the dashcam as Im not that good in installing it eventhough i saw couple video on how to install the thing seems pretty easy.

There's so much chatter that battery power is so inferior to super-capacitor driven dashcams, yet countless millions of battery driven devices are being sold. Maybe it's the cheaper pricing, but not all expensive ones are capacitor-powered either.
For users here, does anyone have actual personal experience of batteries failing on their dashcam and thus ruining the dashcam?

Battery failed in my dashcam, yes.
It didn't ruin the cam only because I caught it in time.
I used sjcam sj4000's as dashcams for 5 years. After the first year I noticed one unit looked swollen. Opened up the battery cover and the battery was very swollen. Manage to slowly coax the pregnant batt out of the compartment. The camera frame was distended as well. Fortunately it eventually regained (more or less) its original shape.
So every year I'd swap out the batts for new ones. I remember one year I did the swap after about 8 months.
Anyways after switching to the capacitor-powered mini 0906, no more worry about batts.
BUT in capacitor dashcams, there still is a battery... a small button battery that keeps the settings in memory. I believe its called a Real Time Clock battery. No idea if it will cause any damage when it fails one day.

Actually, the batteries are good. But dashcams that use batteries in hot countries are bad for the batteries.

My very 1st dashcam uses a battery and got spoilt which caused it to unable to keep a charge anymore. Every time I off the engine the date and time are reset back to Jan 1st 2000

I also saw my friend's dashcam's battery actually got bloated and trying to push itself out of the dashcam.

Anyway, supercapacitor will spoil also but it won't be due to the heat. Most probably old age

Looks like 64GB Evo Plus not so ideal for its lower write speed. Sandisk Ultra A1 64GB much better, average 40-55MB/s. SDSQUAR-064G-GN6MA

Any recommendation for 64GB SD card besides SanDisk Ultra A1?
