Honda said mine no warranty cause the damage was done by my Aukey USB car charger.
Should be missing codecs to play the videos only. I'm using MX player on my S9+.

Any better solution to this other than using a diff media player than the default one?

Thinking of using my credit card points to redeem. As I mentioned previously, I do not need high end dashcam, just ok ok will do, so long can record, use as evidence if accident.

Also, what is the average cost for installation? Don't want kena ketuk.....

thanks so much

This is a codec issue. It will need to have the codec installed. Phones are different than on Windows which you can install the codec while phone you'll need the player with the codec embedded.

Hi all, I've read this thread recently and starting to get a feel of what to look for. However, I don't have the confidence to self install. Is there any good installer in melaka? Otherwise, can recommend near sunway pyramid that is open on Sunday (going down for the weekend)?
I'm thinking of getting the viofo 119 front and rear from online.

Sicurez in Sunway should be open on Sunday. But if not mistaken, they don't install for dashcams not bought from them. Call them 1st to confirm.

They are the authorized Malaysia distributor for Thinkware and Viofo.

Wait for sales should be cheaper... Or check their Lazada store and see got sales or not.

If not mistaken, all their dashcams comes with 18 months 1 on 1 exchange warranty.

It also depends on yr car I suppose. Klntos couriered a 119v2, spend a few days reading the instructions and went hunting for recommended microSD and testing it in the car first.

After deciding where to lay the cables and stickers, took me less than 30min one Sunday morning to get it installed (just the front)

I'm totally illiterate to install myself unless just direct usb to cigarette adapter.
My car just a jazz. Rm970+ does seems expensive but thinking if it can last 5 years then justified, since battery dash cam eg xiaomi 70mai rm200+ x2 front rear and if battery die after 2 years then become almost same rm900+. Not sure if my thinking correct.

Just went there about 1.5 months ago to install A129 Pro Duo. Good workmanship I'd say.

I don't have spare time so I'd rather let others to do it.

If your Jazz is still under warranty, you may want to avoid hardwiring it to fuse box in case it voids warranty. And for your Jazz, self installation of rear cam may be an issue if you don't know how to run the wire (you don't want the wire to kena kepit when you open/close the hatch).

Life span of the cams depends on your driving pattern (long drive = more recording) and where you park your car (battery doesn't like heat).

For my rear cam, I'm using B1W (thanks to blurjoey for recommending it). It uses capacitor, so battery failure is avoided. The small form factor also doesn't block my view when using rear view mirror. My car is a City, so it's easy to wire the rear cam to take power from the ciggy ports for the rear passenger.

For front, I use Yi Dashcam. It's been more than two years and it's still surviving but my car is underutilised and it's parked in sheltered car park at work and home.
