Original Post.

I am going to customize myself a gaming PC and after doing a bit of study, below are what I intend to buy. Please advice whether such combination ok or not.

i9 CPU
Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master
Any RTX 2070 series GPU
Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3200mhz
Samsung 1TB SSD EVO SATA III
Thermaltake View 71/Phateks Enthoo Pro
Gamdias 750 / Corsair 850x
2TB Harddisk
4K Gaming Monitor

I still dont know whether I will need any cooling system or not. Also, for audio, I will connect it to my AV Receiver/Amplifier for a full 5.1 Surround System through SPDIF. Kindly find below my surround system setup.

KEF E301 5.1
Denon AVR-X550BT

I will connect my PC to Monitor using DisplayPort and then using Digital Output to connect it to Denon for Audio. Dont know whether workable or not. Thanks in advance for any advice from sifu in this forum.......

Don't underestimate 4k bro. Btw just use hdmi from your GPU to avr hdmi input and set lpcm 5.1 from your windows audio setting.

Why u spent a lot in audio system?

Should've spent on the "gaming" parts since you are building a gaming rig.

Bruh, for 4k you'd need a 2080. So get i7 and 2080. The 2080 will barely get 60 fps at 4k, and 30 fps if you turn RTX on lol. Or even Ryzen 7 or wait for the new AMD CPUs which will probably land in May.

Walau eh..... More budget then. Or any parts that I can sacrifice and put it into 2080?

Because I watch a lot of movies as well. Hence, this machine is more like movie and gaming. I hate wearing headphone. So, spend on audio lor.

I plan to get this machine up and running in July. Still got time to wait for this AMD CPU then. But comparing AMD and Intel, the latter is better right?

Get Ryzen 7 2700X. 4k bottlenecks graphic card instead of CPU.

In July, Ryzen 3rd gen may be out.

You wanted an ultimate gaming PC but having budget restrictions? That won't do...

Your build is not balanced.

1. i7-8700/k or ryzen 2700x is probably more suitable at your budget

2. Get M.2 NVMe drive rather than SATA SSD for your OS drive

3. Need stronger GPU for 4k gaming. You could wait a bit till Navi is announced.

4. Optionally reduce monitor to 2k (2160p)

5. You better have adequate cooling and a case that allows it

6. RAM probably overkill and take too much budget, especially with Intel systems.

7. Aesthetics is personal choice... RGB and lights will cost more. Just in case you are thinking of those features on the parts you chose...

8. Is your amp able to process the sounds well right out of motherboard? You should do some homework on that.

if you want ultimate gaming pc, reduce to i7 9700K, increase to RTX 2080 or above.
instead of Thermaltake View 71/Phateks Enthoo Pro, grab high airflow case such as CM H500M or fractal design meshify series.
don't even pick any PSU other than CM, corsair, evga, superflower, seasonic and FSP.

Thks for the suggestion. I asked my amp vendor oredi. Its Denom 550. I plan to plug in using HDMI through the graphic card. Not going to use SPDIF anymore. Also, reason why I go for 4k monitor is because of movies. I spent tons of time watching movies and drama series as well.

That's why I have alternative mar. He he he. I don't mind to sacrifice this to get a better build.

Imo your specs looks good already. If I were you, change mb to Aorus elite, i7 8700 enough already, meshify c and gfx to 2080. My 2080 played with 2k60hz barely enough to play battlefield V with rt on and max settings. But I played about 3 hours a week. The rest I spent only watching movies with Home theater setup.

How u connect ur PC to home theatre? This part worries me a lot. I bought Denom 550 and KEF e301 oredi. This is what I plan to do after googlung the best method.

Connect pc to monitor using Displayport in order to fully utilize G-Sync. Then my GPU has another HDMI slot which I will use it to connect to Denom AVR. Will need to tinkle the setting in windows later to use 5.1 setup. Is this right?
