I thought Osmo was better.

Until I realized although real gymbal is better than electronic in body, but the physical size still matters in the end.

I'll prefer gopro, I think smaller in size easier for travelling. But say if you want better quality videos, probably osmo then.

sorry I mean the stabilization. If I'm not wrong there are some disadvantages using digital stabilization.

I have both. I believe both is good but really depends on your usage.

GoPro good if you want to attach and just let go of camera control, get more of like PoV shots and the fact that they are pretty durable and waterproof is an advantage to that kind of setup. They also have infinity focus which can be an advantage/disadvantage depending on what you wanna do with it. GoPro banyak third party accessories though, but some accessories that exclusive to official (like their mic adapter) is overpriced.

OP good for a more controlled shot, plus I personally find their built in mic is better than GoPro (GPH7 macam echo/muffled a bit) if you want to narrate your footage without external mic. Plus they have autofocus and tracking capabilities. But accessories for OP third party pun susah nak cari lol.

If you want a bit of both, Sony RX0 II is coming out soon. But harga I think almost the same if you buy GPH7 + OP lol.

Sony RX0 II already launched RM2,799 but that price like u said can buy both GP7 (RM1,669) & OP (RM1,499) LOL biggrin.gif

However, sony's stability is quite bad, not that recomended if u plan to take videos, but the picture shots are dslr ish quality

I jumped ship from gopro 7 black to osmo pocket.. because I dont like some of the features of gp7 (simply personal preference.. not because gp7 is a bad product). The reason i ditched gp7 :

-i dont like wide angle view. I always take film in 4k 60fps but at this resolution, gp7b has no linear mode.
- hypersmooth stabilization causing problems with slow panning movement at that time. After firmware update, it seems it has been fixed but there are a few people still not satisfied (see official gopro forum).
- I always use gopro + phone gimbal for cinematic video. But now, osmo pocket is released, I can save space and it gives me more convenience. I can store osmo pocket in my pocket, and turn it on in instant. Meanwhile, gopro+phone gimbal cannot be stored inside a pocket and setting up the gimbal also take a few minutes of works.
- some people says op has better night recording compared to gp7. I dont know how true it is. It may be subjective.

Anyway, gp is good for something other than above, like action camera, and underwater usage.

For versatility, gopro hero 7 is better
For quality, I think osmo pocket is slightly better

Wow...
Gonna love larger sensor for not too artificial oversharpening, hopefully the larger sensor will bring much better lowlight performance.

One more thing is, finally put the screen same side with sensor, action cam really should have do this since the beginning.

If the quality turns out to be better than GP7 and OP, including the buit-in mic, gonna sell like a hot cake for vloggers too
