We intend to create a small bedroom in our living room in an apartment / condo. When we approach the building management, they say must get DBKL approval first.
Is it true? Anyone know this is under what Act or regulation? No hacking of walls will be involved. Only add drywall & door
Act 133 (Street, Drainage & Building Act) Clause 79 stipulates local authority approval is required for any partitioning work. Is it true? Anyone know this is under what Act or regulation? No hacking of walls will be involved. Only add drywall & door
Uniform Building By-Law requires minimum habitable room size/width and window.
It is for health and safety...the partitioning and material used may alter fire safety.
Fire insurance may only pay out claim if the unit alteration has DBKL approval.
