Najib's confidant used law firm to receive RM2.5m, reveals witness

Lawyer Ashraf Razak, who is the prosecution's 18th witness, confirmed that his client Habibul Abdul Rahman passed him the cheque from Najib that was made out to law firm Zulqarnain & Co.

Uma Devi is referred to the bank statement and she agrees that is how a bank statement looks like.
The witness agrees that customers have to go through the statement and they have 14 days to come back to the bank if there are any disputes.
Uma Devi says there was no notification by Najib that there were discrepancies, unauthorised transactions in the statements issued.

During cross-examination by defence counsel Harvinderjit, Uma acknowledges that her account of events is different from the testimony by Azizul, who was the trial's second witness.
Harvinderjit: Were you aware of what witness Azizul informed the court?
Uma: I read through the news feeds.
Harvinderjit: While you were conversing (with DPP Sulaiman and Suhaimi in a meeting last week), you knew what Azizul had said is not the same as you are saying (now).
Uma: Yes.
Harvinderjit: Azizul told the court that he only gave you the account numbers. You know that is not true?
Uma: Yes.
Harvinderjit: This was discussed with (DPPs) Suhaimi, Sulaiman and Sithambaram?
Uma: It was mentioned.
Harvinderjit: Your position is different?
Uma: Yes

High Court: Dimissed Former PM Najib Application To Quash Seven SRC Charges

“There is no suggestion that the accused is misled or confused,” he said, adding that there are no defects in the charges.
As such, the judge said, the claim by the defence that the charges are unclear and there being abuse of the court process is unsubstantiated.

Saksi: Najib ada RM1.9b dalam salah satu akaun pada 201329 Apr 2019 SoSQUOTE Prosiding di Mahkamah Tinggi Kuala Lumpur hari ini dimaklumkan bahawa baki dalam salah satu daripada beberapa akaun AmIslamic Bank bekas perdana menteri Najib pada 2013 mencecah RM1.9 bilion.
Perkara itu disahkan oleh saksi R Uma Devi yang merupakan pengurus bank Jalan Raka Chulan, yang menjawab soalan peguam bela Harvinderjit Singh.
Sebelum itu, Harvinderjit bertanya tentang beberapa transaksi termasuk prosedur dalam melaporkan transaksi jumlah besar kepada Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).
Prosiding dimaklumkan bahawa pada 2012, baki dalam akaun berkenaan berjumlah RM756 juta.
Uma Devi juga memberi keterangan bahawa RM304 juta didepositkan dalam akaun itu pada 2011 oleh kementerian kewangan Arab Saudi.
Harvinderjit: Soalan saya, adakah transaksi berkenaan dibuat daripada sebuah akaun di bawah nama Kementerian Kewangan Riyadh (Arab Saudi)?
Uma Devi: Ya.
Harvinderjit: Saya tak fikir mana-mana akaun bank boleh ada jumlah transaksi sebesar itu tanpa penelitian BNM?
Uma Devi: Ya.
Harvinderjit: Perlu dilaporkan tanpa mengambil kira siapa pemegang akaun?
Uma Devi: Ya.
Terdahulu, Harvinderjit meminta Uma Devi mengesahkan koresponden daripada Najib kepada bank bertarikh 30 Julai 2013 yang mana perdana menteri menyatakan niatnya untuk "memulangkan AS$620 juta" dari akaun banknya.
Harvinderjit bertanya: "Adakah anda setuju bahawa bank maklum jumlah wang yang dikreditkan dalam akan adalah derma dan hadiah, dan ada perwakilan dibuat kepada bank pada 2013, (yang mengatakan) 'saya pulangkan jumlah yang belum digunakan ini semula'?"
Harvinderjit menanyakan soalan itu sambil menambah bahawa ia menggambarkan wang berkenaan dipulangkan kepada pengirimnya.
