Have you found a solution yet?

There are a bunch of MacBook servicing shops in and around KL. i googled and asked for battery replacement pricing for my MacBook Pro (15" Mid-2012 non-retina) and it costs around RM400-450. These batteries only cost RM200+- on lazada, but it might be better for u to get it replaced by a professional cause MacBook batteries after 2012 are glued and so it'll be harder for you to replace it yourself.

*note that price may be more expensive for you as you have a later version MacBook

Do you know the name of the Apple service Seremban? Is it Apple authorised?

I'm researching for battery replacement too. Mine is mid-2015 15" model bought around May 2016. Starting end 2018, the bottom became a bit uneven, and now the wobbling problem is getting more serious even on glass surface, suspect the battery is expanding sad.gif If the battery really expands, I'll be really disappointing about Apple's hardware quality. They recalled their battery last year due to battery expansion issue, but the recall program is only for 2016 13" model.

You should call up apple first to check if they will help to replace even though in there website they never state any recall program .
I got my screen replaced for free, due to some defect. But the recall program only in US.

Thank you. Though different region, is your device the same model as the recall program? Mine is diff model.

I called Apple, they diverted me to Apple Store for diagnostic. I dropped by Apple Store SG, they confirmed the battery is expanding, quoted me ~SGD 270. I was unsatisfied that how could it start expanding just after 2.5 years use. The staff said if usage is heavy and often connected to charger, it's not rare for battery to start have problem after two years use. I was regret at first, I could had buy Applecare+, later I realize that Applecare+ costs ~SGD 550, more expensive than the repair cost.

I just googled this problem, some suggested that the overcharge protection feature marketed by Apple is of not much practical value because it can protect battery damage over time caused by overcharge, but it cannot protect battery damage from heat over time. So the advice is, always unplug your charger once fully charged.
