For one, the M Pen isn't something you can attach to your phone conveniently as there is no slot to put it in the phone unlike the S-Pen in the Note Series. So you'll have to decide if it is convenient to carry the pen separately with you everywhere you go, and another point would be how often do you use a stylus? If your answer is a lot, then possibly it could be worth considering.

I thought most sellers included the M Pen and flip case with the Mate 20 X by default though.

I'm guessing with the additional RM100 you get both the flip cover and the M Pen, and if not, both also without?
