Although I managed to get the extended warranty, I question Huawei's fairness.

1. When the Mate 20 Pro launched, 1 platform has a guaranteed Talkband B5 while other platforms has limited units. I fought my way out to get the Talkband B5.

2. This extended warranty thing. Some are very recent purchasers like those purchasing in Jun-19 but they are not entitled. Meanwhile, the others who were trying their luck gets to keep it because of an error made by HM. Just give it out to every existing owner, it's not like you will lose a lot by being slightly more generous.

I got it as I'm first batch user. Then they fixed it within few hours and up to now, didn't appear again.

Yeah they asked me if I wanted to fix or replace, since I have stored a lot of info inside there, I told them just fix will do.

Well, you really need a screen protector with this phone, somehow it easily scratches.

I got a normal full screen protector, asked people at pasar malam to install for me around RM10. But it feels kinda rubbery, I will try to find for full tempered glass type after this.

Better let people install for you, doing the edges isn't easy.

Tbh, the quality that I get from pasar malam has been good, I think they have same supplier with most shops.

Wow the Tech Mall in Lazada has really good prices for P30 and P30 Pro:

Really hard for consumers to decide if want to go for Mate 20 series or P30 series

Not worth it, new one from Huawei is RM2,599 and comes with 2 years warranty.

Anyone tried using a double sided magnetic case before? I know it's heavier but if the phone really does drop, the first thing that shatters is the case instead of the phone right?

I want full TG but shops are charging quite high for it and installation. Around RM50.

I'm using nano protector but it doesn't feel smooth like glass, kinda dislike the feeling.

I don't like the new multi window thing. I used to just hold the square button and i can resize the app. Now needs a few more steps and I can't get Waze to work with it.

Well Waze is fine by itself. But I normally resize the Waze app to around 3/4 of my screen because I put my phone at the cupholder at the right side of the steering wheel. Works on both Myvi and Vios.

Used to be able to resize Waze, now can't. But it works on Google Maps. Last time I just hold the square button, then Waze becomes half screen. So I pull it a little more downwards and it resizes perfectly.

Just noticed there are other changes such as animations when closing background apps and also AOD (long time since I used this because it was so plain last time).

Multi window means you can open two apps at the same time, like one at the bottom of the screen and one at the top of the screen. Now they give another option which is one app in the background, one app floating on top of the background app.

Still, it doesn't work with Waze, so I'm not liking it.

Mate20 Pro here on EMUI 10, google works. I really didn't hear about any news saying google will not work on a Mate 20 device.

I feel like upgrading for a faster processor, more zoom capabilities and a higher refresh rate but this phone has aged surprisingly well, I might need to wait another year.

Same here, now I've been eyeing S21 Ultra or Oppo's next release (after Find X2 Pro). Let's see how it goes when they eventually launch. Unless Huawei suddenly gets back GMS, then bye2 Samsung and Oppo haha
