basically now my office only got 16 phones but we want to increase to 24. Also we want to expand in the future to more phones but don't want to keep changing out the PBX system. Only around 8 phones is for calling out, rest is for internal.

VOIP a bit too canggih for our use.

What is the current PBX system?

The easiest is to find those small company specializing in PBX and ask around. You can learn a lot.
I've worked with this company before and they're quite good. https://expertvoice.com.my

You got 100 people and no IT staff familiar with a PBX system??

Are you redoing your whole infrastructure or just changing the PBX?

Existing system is using which one
The simplest is Panasonic. 4wire or 2 wire both can use.

Unless necessary don't go for ip. Keep phone system simple and independent. So when power failure your phone will not stop.

Oh.

the better, and higher end PBX systems are modular. They can add components/modules to add additional lines.

Just contact a vendor and they will be able to quote you accordingly.

When I set up a new office last time, I just went to TM (since getting new office lines) and got a PBX system from them. TM also has PBX contractors and vendors.

6 line means if people outside call your office...it will able to route to six lines even though it is called one number...and people inside able to make a call without waiting for other people to finish their call..

for 32 hybrid -means is able to support 32 users...

if u want up to 100 users/staff ask la to put extra panel to expand..

this thing you have to think future also cause better do it in one go instead add in later on...
- if your company have 20 staff better take 32 where the balance will left if i not mistaken 20+6 - 32 = 6 available line...
- if your management said we will expand and probably from 20 to 50 staff probably next year..or later.. take la 32+32 = 64 extension line...

it depends on budget and requirement on the management like my company wanted to see report who made call and support from the reliable resources so we pick the well know PBX system...it cost us 100k last 10 years ago...huhuhu...now not worth it... my advice get information from the management what and how the company will expand and what info or do you as admin require to control it or not..

if you are new or SME less then 20 people better take normal PBX no need to overkill take IP Phone...

I had set up for 20+ before, and ip pbx makes more sense. a budgetary price is:

1. 1 unit of A420 IP-PBX (4 FXO, 100 Extensions capable) = RM 1988
2. 22 units of ip phone = RM 180 x 22 = RM 4000 (3 already provided)
3. 1 unit TP-LINK TL-SL1226 24 + 2G Gigabit POE Switch 24-port = RM 510

u need 2 to 4 lines from telekom for inbound
u will use a voip provider/gateway for outbound via internet (approx RM 100 a month only, 1100 Min free, after 9 sen / min for call out, and cheaper overseas calls)
u will need LAN cable (if PC LAN cable already got already, they can share) else substantial cost here ...
u need consider maintenance and installation fee, minimum amounts,

So juz budget 6 to 7 K ... total.
It has been mostly hassle free, but beware hackers, coz network/internet based.

some phones I still need to use telephone wire (RJ11), so need a gateway?

I think 19 IP phone and 12 analog altogether. Don't want to use VOIP, will stick to old TM

IPBX is good, but you need to host a server.
Can set up pick up calls direct from Computer or Phone as well (as long as on the network).

RJ 11 - needs a converter to IP, but less reliable.
is either ip or analogue, hard to mix.

but analogue system, you cant print reports and see logs of abusive users.
