Hey ppl,

I heard all Warner Brothers movies are region free but just wanna make some confirmation.

But yeah is cool... i will wait till 8th Aug. Check all the BD movies which are from WB ( Example Superman Returns ) no region written at the back of the Blu-ray CASE.

Easier for me to get here and is like 40 AUS for it.

Order from amazon + shipping also nearly same price , might as well just get it here.

Is cool ..thanks a lot of the info.

cheers

dante_cool, are aussie shops have rental system for BD and HD-DVD? if yes, how's the pricing compared to dvd rentals? reasonable?
*
Hi acougan,

Erm Blu-ray rental are available I think but only in some major rental dvd store, pricing I am not that sure. I guess it should be around 5 bucks per dvd rental .

HD-DVD is even worst, hardly find shops selling HD-DVD ( so far I havent seen any shop that has it ).

dvd rentals here are like $2.50 for 3 nights or something. People here normally buy the DVD's as they are quite cheap ( especially during sale ).
Will update you about it if I find more info

cheers

hey guys,

Just wanna ask about blu-ray movies, does it play only on 1080P ??

my LCD supports only up to 720P, I heard one of the firmware fixes up this issue last time. ( Blu-ray movies can now support at 720P and up to 1080 P)

Can someone please confirm this.

thanks

Love that movie..but still not as good as Transformers LOL.

Added on August 7, 2007, 6:06 amHey guys,

Can any of you guys confirm if there is any region stated behind the case of the 300 BLU-RAY.
Just wanna double check, cause I check all WB movies here they dont actually note any region encoding unlike SONY they put A,B,C there.

Just incase I miss it and waste my 40 bucks. ( We should be having the same art cover ).

lol

Cheers

Hey guys,

just got my 300 blu-ray movie...Wonderful man.

Guys does the casing just comes with the disc? There is like nothing else..in the box other than the disc.

About the sound system , which is better? the erm bitstream or linear PCM is better?

I am a noob to blu-ray, first blu-ray title.

cheers

Added on August 7, 2007, 2:39 pmHey guys,

dante, yes, only casing.....

can u output linear pcm 5.1? if not, u have to stick with bitstream(for optical users)
*
hi Rx330,

Yeah I have to stick with BITSTREAM using the Optical cable for my sound system. Is cool anyway...picture quality awesome, just hope it was full screen instead of letterbox.

Anybody know when Stranglehold DEMO is out for PS3? I downloaded the 360 demo yesterday night ( took like 2 hours , crazy )..IT WAS AWESOME.
Demo lasted quite a while and got a bit of replay value.

Man.. all the environments are destructable. Hope the PS3 one will be coming out soon. Heavenly Sword and Stranglehold ( No more $$ blink.gif ) . Going to be a crazy september.

hey guys, hows your Asian PS3 online system? Does it lag badly..my Resistance ( region 3 ) lag really bad, cant even play. Can hardly play, but it works perfectly alright with RR7 and MotorStorm. Guess is because of the server issue with Resistance.

There will be Multiplayer in Stranglehold, so I wanna make sure it will be running with minimal lag on my PS3.

Cheers

Have a nice day people.

I've been playing R:FoM for quite sometime...there's no lag issues for me....even after the world wide server launch.
I've even tried the 40 player maps with 40 player online and there's no lag whatsoever...maybe it's your connection?
*
Hi,

I didnt know there was an world wide server launch. I will try it when I am back home.

Are you experiencing no lag for custom/ranking games as well?

Hmm.. I doubt is my connection since I am running on ADSL 2+ here in Aus, everything seems good. The only reason I can think of is probably my PS3 is Asia region therefore connecting to the HK/Asia server. Cause downloading demo's from the PSN network is takes around 10 - 15 mins, so it seems fine.

Yeah will try it again, maybe it will be better now..after the world wide server launch. Haven't touch the game like 3 mths.

cheers

hey guys,

Got a question here, I just got the blu-ray trilogy of Spiderman ( release today in Aus ) biggrin.gif

Anybody can tell you the reason why we cant get full screen on my LCD TV. My highest Res is 720P / 1080i.

Would it be due to the reason my TV is not 1080P therefore I can get full screen. Is annoying with the black bars at the top and the bottom.

Spiderman 1 is full screen though, look so much better. Although I did realise there the box behind spiderman 1 is running on a different kind of rez ( 1.85:1) where spidey 2 & 3 was ( 2.40:1 ) which majority of the movies are.

Anybody know whether is it due to my TV not having 1080P or is it normal?

thanks

Cheers

dante, the aspect ratio for 2.4:1 is wider than 1.85, therefore, in order to fit the wider image on ur screen, u'll see more of the cropping or letterbox as we call it.
*
Hey people,

thanks for all the reply. If thats the case, would it mean if your LCD is wider you can probably get a full screen?

Mine is only 40 inch, probably thats the reason behind it?

thanks

Wow!!! shocking.gif Can you give a review for the video and audio quality of the trilogy? Does it hv 2 versions of Spiderman2?  thumbup.gif

And about the aspect ratio, nowadays filmmakers prefer the (2.40:1) which i not favor, and im afraid in the near future, there will be a new standard TV ratio which is 21:9 doh.gif  tongue.gif  laugh.gif

hey,

I tested all 3 movies yesterday. Going to watch Spidey 3 this Friday night. I live in an apartment, so cant blast my volume too loud.

But sound is still good to me.

Video quality is excellent compare to 300 ( Grainy ) , but the black bars are very annoying. I havent really watch many BD-movies. Just started renting BD movies and games from another state here in Australia.

I just watched Talledega Nights on BD ( darn funny ).

Highly recommend Spiderman to everyone if you are a huge FAN.

A bit sad due to Transfomers wont be coming to BD.

To me personally I see blu-ray movies this way. Quality is like playing a DVD on a small television.
I see it as Blu-ray movies are for people that are having HD televisions. I tried dvd on my LCD, it is bad.

Cheers

I just realised Australia released BD Spiderman really early rclxms.gif compare to Europe and US which will be releasing it this coming October.
