DiRT demo has a new track. If anyone played it on the 360, they had an Evo 9 and a different track, they replaced it with a new rally track in Italy.

QUOTE(andy_lhc @ Aug 17 2007, 10:40 AM) Dirt is good. If you like Motorstorm, you gonna like this one. The only thing is Dirt is less muddier compared to Motorstorm. And, PS3 version of Dirt will have smoother framerate and the graphics will be optimized compared to PC/360 version. |

QUOTE(mayatsan @ Aug 17 2007, 11:13 AM) Kanapa... tak pirchaya? QUOTE(IGN.com) The three months between the release of the Xbox 360 version of DiRT and the PlayStation 3 have been precious time for Codemasters. It has allowed the publisher to refine its off-roader to within an inch of its life, by tackling a lot of the criticisms aimed at its Xbox cousin. Take the drop in frame-rate issue that reared its ugly head on some of the busier tracks - its been totally stripped away and the PS3 game runs at a solid 30 frames-per-second, even when there are half a dozen cars jostling to get ahead of one another. Some might say the 360 version should've been like that in the first place and they'd be right, but it's good to see Codies has at least used this time to make the best game possible for PS3. Naturally it runs off Blu-ray too, plus load times have been optimised so you're up and running on the next track in around 30 second, as opposed to the 45-second load times on 360. HDMI makes a difference too, with those oh-so-cool loading screens that display your driver facts appearing sharper and crisper than ever before. Admittedly it's not a huge difference - the average Joe is unlikely to notice on anything smaller than a 40-inch HDTV - but the improvement is definitely there. The same applies to the audio, which is now cranked out in Dolby 7.1 rather than 5.1. Only those fortunate enough to play on a kick-ass set-up will benefit but it all goes to show that Colin McRae DiRT has been properly optimised for Sony's next-gen machine. Heck, Codies has even included the rubble feature should Sony choose to include it in the next batch of SIXAXIS controllers, but for now you have no option but to race rumble-free unless you hook it up to a force-feedback wheel. Yeah, rumble-only is so last-gen.. i think Sony and Immersion should implement extra features to the controller.

QUOTE(lightning69 @ Aug 19 2007, 03:30 PM) Rumble ain't last gen. It is the most important features in any games as it let you FEEL the game. Sony fcuk up big time by not including rumble in the sixaxis. I personally think that the motion sensing in the sixaxis is bullshit as it has not work well in any game. LoL.. seems like both games are short.. Anyway, here are some reviews...read only if you are interested The latest PSW has long reviews of Heavenly Sword and Lair. But all you want to know is the scores, huh? Well here you go... Heavenly Sword - 8 + Stunning Visuals + Inspired use of the Sixaxis + Superb combat system - Over too soon Lair - 8 + Always so much going on + Stunning attention to detail + Intuitive control set-up - Not the longest of games |

QUOTE(vorchiel @ Aug 20 2007, 05:29 PM) Okay since no one mentioned this, did any of you tried the BladeStorm demo on JP PSN store? It was out a few weeks ago but I dont know how to control I'm kinda like the demo. Bladestorm's premium package revealed ![]() Later this month Bladestorm arrives in Japan and Koei has a slightly more expensive bundle to celebrate its August 30th release. The Bladestorm premium box contains a calendar, a CD with ten songs, a hardbound first battle guide and the game for 9.980 yen ($86). There is also a Bladestorm PS3 bundle with a 60GB Playstation 3, game and a soundtrack coming out for 61,886 yen ($536), which is marginally more expensive than a standalone console. So far two Koei games have had PS3 bundles in Japan and they are the only third party publisher to have bundles. Source: http://play-beyond.net/2007/08/21/bladesto...ckage-revealed/ |

For those who haven't started folding, join me here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/430936 QUOTE Update: Folding@home(tm) for PS3 Version 1.2 A new version of the Folding@home client for the PS3 is coming tonight. To update Folding@home(tm) for PS3(tm), simply restart the application and follow the onscreen update prompts. Improvement: Support for Remote Play for PSP(tm) (PlayStation(R)Portable) Folding@home(tm) can now be remotely operated through the Remote Play feature of your PS3(tm) system. When you use this feature, the Folding@home(tm) help screen will be specific to your PSP(tm) system's controls. Use this screen if you need help in navigating Folding@home(tm) from your PSP(tm) system. Note: PSP(tm) system software should be version 3.50 or higher. To use Remote Play for the first time, you must first register (pair) a PSP(tm) system with a PS3(tm) system. For setup details, see the "Remote Play" section of the PLAYSTATION(R)3 System Software User's Guide: http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en...work/index.html Improvement: Visibility of Donor Locations on the Globe The markers indicating PS3(tm) system donor locations on the globe have been improved to differentiate between daytime and nighttime areas. Improvement: Support for Additional Protein Simulations Additional computation cores are now supported. This allows Folding@home(tm) for PS3(tm) to support a wider range of protein-folding simulations. Improvement: Advanced Participation Mode An advanced participation mode has been added to Folding@home(tm) for PS3(tm). This mode allows Stanford to send simulations of varying computational lengths to users of Folding@home(tm) for PS3(tm). Because the simulations in this mode can take significantly longer, Advanced Mode is only recommended for contributors who run Folding@home(tm) for PS3(tm) for at least eight (8) hours per day. Note: In Advanced Mode, an energy graph during the simulation will also be displayed. In this graph, the blue line represents the total energy level of the protein over time. The red line represents the average temperature level at which the current simulation is run. Improvement: Screensaver Mode A screensaver mode can now be activated via the Settings menu. After no controller input has been detected for three (3) minutes, the screen will go blank except for a logo that periodically moves to avoid screen burn-in. Any controller input will exit the screensaver mode. This feature allows your PS3(tm) system to consume slightly less power and to increase performance of protein-folding simulations. Improvement: Link to Project Description A link has been added to the Information menu that allows you to quickly obtain additional information about the specific research project that you're currently contributing to. Improvement: Protein Visualization Enhancements All visualization modes have been enhanced with improved shading, highlighting, and focus effects. In addition, four new visualization modes have been added: Tapioca - Displays the protein as a smooth surface with improved shading and depth. (Tapioca replaces the "ISO Surface" visualization that was available in earlier versions.) Caviar - Displays the protein as a smooth surface with defined edges. Licorice - Displays only the protein's bonds. Backbone - Emphasizes specific sections of the protein that are of the most scientific interest to researchers. Note: The Backbone visualization is not available for all proteins. Source: http://play-beyond.net/2007/08/21/update-f...ae3-version-12/ |

Source: http://www.shootfortheedit.com/forums/view...der=asc&start=0 It was posted by Michael Bay himself. But, who knows, maybe someone hacked his forum account. Michael Bay responds to Paramount's abandonment of Blu-ray: "No Transformers 2 for me!" So by now you've heard that Paramount has dropped support for Blu-ray right? Good, so has a notable Hollywood director. Michael Bay -- the director behind "Transformers," "Bad Boys," "Pear Harbor," etc. -- just threw down with Paramount in his personal blog. He states, "I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!" That's right Mike, aim your PS3 right at their coffers! Source: http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/21/michael...f-blu-ray-no-t/ |
